Bernard

What? that we should spunk 45m on the next half decent talent from Brazil? Moura is a great player but nowhere near worth the money PSG paid, so really there is no lesson to be learned. Also, Lucas has only been good in the French league and the Brazillian league (OK, and 1 game vs Barca) but he has hardly proved himself at all yet.

Oscar on the other hand has proved himself in the Premier League and in Europe and cost less than half what Lucas did so here is where our lesson lies.

It was said Txiki has an extensive list of players for every position with fall back options, etc. I reckon Bernard might be #2 or #3 (#2 Reus?) on the same list as Isco (#1) because if we get Isco I think he will be played on the left like he did a fair bit for Malaga in the season just gone. Looking solely at highlights, Bernard looks a more exciting prospect than Isco... but while Isco isn't fast, he is productive and creates a lot of chances while scoring goals. Or I might be wrong and we could go and sign both... stockpile the playmakers and worry about where to put them later. :)

I think we should at the very least be looking to buy Bernard and loaning him out.

It seems the Nasri out rumours have gone a bit quiet though, which lends a sense of reason that it will either be Isco or Bernard.

If Nasri went, out attacking midfield could well be; Silva, Isco, Bernard, Navas, Milner.

A small update from this guy who seems to be quite respected in relation to Bernard's club...

<a class="postlink" href="https://twitter.com/RobertoAbrass/status/342424872112242688" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://twitter.com/RobertoAbrass/statu ... 2112242688</a>

He says Bernard has been "practically sold" to City to what works out as £11.5million when converted from Brazilian reals.

Hard not to be skeptical... especially if we're signing Isco. Do we plan to revolutionise football with a 0-8-2 formation next year?

I hope this is true. Having pace and trickery off the bench is welcome.

worked for barca and spain :)

To be honest, for that price it would be signing I would get most excited with. Even if he fails it's not big deal, it's amount that he can be sold for again, and if he doesn't, than woooah :)
