I agree. Haven’t been overly impressed so far. Neither has Pep judging by the amount of time he has spent on the bench. Tidy player on the ball but no cutting edge for me.

He's being eased in like Sané was last year, and he's quite clearly getting better and more in sync with the rest of the team as the season goes on he'll play more and more.

Maybe. Hope so. I agree Sane wasn’t great when he first came either but I still saw more flashes of what he was capable of than I am seeing with Silva. The jury is still out a bit for me but time will tell.

My view might also be a bit tainted due to the brilliance of D Silva and De Bruyne and it’s not really fair to compare him to those two. No other midfielders in the prem are as good as those two.

The fact that he doesn't get to play in their position but instead is forced to play a role for the team out on the wing probably plays a big part in that. Force Spanish Dave to stand out on the touchline and he probably wouldn't exactly look electric either. He's doing a cracking job for the team by going against what he must surely want to do, but instead stays out wide to stretch teams and make that space for those in the middle to exploit.

If we let him wander all over the pitch looking for pockets of space then I'm sure he'd have a great time.

He is a huge talent who will replace Silva. He is an Iniesta type playmaker who will drift into space and create chances. He is not a right winger much in the way David Silva was not a left winger. Yes David was effective from wide positions still but Bernardo will continue to settle and improve.

He is without doubt a player that will get better and better as he settles into the pace of our league. Give him time.
Spot on.

Where did this bizarre group-think sentiment that Nasri was brilliant (apart from his attitude) come from?

I've no real idea what Nasri's attitude is like, but I do know that he was never good enough for City for the reasons above: he slows play down. It was a problem under both Mancini and Pellegrini but would be much worse under Pep because we break like lightning when defensive teams have had an attack. That's my concern about Bernando. He has too many touches, he slows play down, he brings the ball round to his left foot all the time. By the time he's "set" the killer pass options have closed up.

As I said, It's early days and I can see he has something: he does run at people and take them out the game. But I'm not convinced he's the right player for us at this stage. He was touted as a Silva replacement but he doesn't look it at the moment.

The Monaco team B.Silva thrived in played at a quicker pace than us. That team was built for the fast break.

Nasri was definitely good enough for us. One of our key players in both title campaigns and scored big goals in crucial moments. For some baffling reason a lot of City fans preferred James headless chicken Milner. Peak Nasri thrives in this Pep team.

"Peak Nasri" gets nowhere near a Pep team, which is why Pep fucked him off as soon as he arrived.
