He was at his peak when he was instrumental in beating Pep's Barca team when at Arsenal though.

Who's this aimed at? If me, I think you're massively underrating the contributions of a class footballer to the club. Take away his big goals and we're a few trophies lighter.
Most of the reporting was that Nasri chose to leave against Guardiola's judgement. Marti Perenau has stated in an interview that Guardiola was disappointed that Nasri left and wanted to work with him"Peak Nasri" gets nowhere near a Pep team, which is why Pep fucked him off as soon as he arrived.

That Pep is routinely picking him more and more tells me everything I need to know.
Not been in maybe his ideal spot out wide right. But perhaps analogous to the Big Silva often being used of necessity in wider spaces for so many years under Mancini and Pellars. Not as good as he could be more centrally but class enough to be useful anyway.
Offers a different dynamic out wide as opposed to the other choices. Probably a value to that on some tactical level also.

Pep couldn't guarantee him as much first team football as he wanted, so he left.
Don't remember him complimenting the 'unbelievable' technical qualities of other players when we sold him in the same way though?
Also, as previously noted, Nasri was past his peak when Pep arrived. So it's irrelevant either way, as said.
Nasri was great for us when he wanted to be, and he was a huge part of our title season. Peak Nasri would have thrived in a Pep team.
As for B. Silva, he is looking better and better each game. I think he knows Dave only has a year or two left in him, and we will see Bernardo phased in centrally more and more as time progresses. I also still think he is a very similar player. He is good in tight space, he rarely loses the ball and he can always find a pass. He is massively out of his comfort zone on the wings but hes still making it work. He looks a lot more promising than Gundogan IMO, although I would love to see them both come good.

I thought Pep was very clear that he didn't tell Nasri to leave, Nasri left because he wanted to play every week after spending a year on the sidelines with injury.
