Really hope Pep leaves him there now. Not only does it give us more tenacity in midfield but it allows De Bruyne to play higher up the pitch where he can practically destroy teams on his own.

I think he's good to perform wherever as long as the team's at it.

Quality return to form. He might be good on the wing, but central is simply his spot. His presence there covered Gundogan's deficiencies and allowed him to play well.

It was looking like the 'racist' witch hunt had floored Bernie, certainly seemed to affect him mentally. Glad to see that his recent lack of form was a just blip and hopefully behind him. Top class today in his favoured position. great to see him playing well and smiling again.

I said it when he took over in that role from Gundogan against Arsenal that that was his best position. His intensity and technique makes him a fantastic side kick to the #6

Better than either David or Gundogan at it.
