Probably just recognises Foden at 20 has everything he has plus a bigger goal threat, so he’ll be riding the bench even more regularly if he stays.

Ultimately, it’s his own fault for coming - he was a key player for Monaco, as he is for Portugal; here he’s joined a club with better, more productive players than him in each of his favoured positions, so he can’t sulk that he’s seen as a utility man.

Some short memories on here. Guy's just played a pivotal role in our two greatest ever seasons and filled in flawlessly for De Bruyne when he was injured for the bulk of last season. But, predictably, there's always someone waiting to kick one of our own when they're down. Pathetic.

Straight choice of either Bernardo or Mahrez leaving who would you prefer to stay?

For me it's Bernardo every time mainly due to even when he is out of form he still works his nuts off and is a big team player - when he is on form he is unplayable. When Kev was injured last year, he more than anyone stepped up. With David leaving we will need the little guy. The CL team selection will tell us a lot as to the future.

He's a great player and had a bad 6 months. New season, new Bernardo. Will play a pivotal part in midfield now Silva departed and Foden will carry on progressing as an attacker moving back to CM in a few seasons time.

Beyond pivotal last season. When KDB went down, but for him, we'd have been a country mile behind the scousers. What was the ridiculous number of km he ran in our Etihad win over them?
