Pep basically played him in his best positions in both situations.

With KdB, your right, basically an advanced defensive midfielder next to Rodri to let KdB play higher.

When KdB went off he went into KdB RCM role and played more attacking.

These are his best positions imo, because while he is decent at RW, I think Mahrez directness is better. Mahrez was a little frustrating today but still got 2 assists. He's our best RW option.

Because he's more comfortable on the right.

We will only have Foden who is comfortable on the left next season.

He's not terrible, but he just doesn't look like the same player as last season. Hopefully he can get his mojo back for next season because anybody who can play like he did last year is a hell of a player.

No doubting his talent but he actually had an average first season. One really good season in 3 so far.

Last year during pre-season he looked the fittest and hungriest player out there.
This pre-season he looked the worst in the squad in pretty much all aspects.

I know pre-season isn't the most important thing but to me there just was some mentality change. This could be a good illustration of why we are 25pts behind Liverpool, some players simply didn't simply have the same hunger anymore.

I hope he finds himself again but for me this shouldn't really be acceptable. I felt the first season was average aswell. I would rather take a player who is 7/10 every season vs a player who is 10/10 in 1 and then 4/10 in other 2.

You see his name on the teamsheet and you just kinda shrug your shoulders because you know it'll just be another 6/10 performance again. I think it's frustrating for all of us because we witnessed him last season playing at a level that's up there with prime Yaya or KDB this season. Such a shame.
