Predictable headline from Marca

Remember, this is the Madrid FC Rag that was telling the World continually that Mbappe (and if not, Haaland) were going to sign for Madrid.

I can’t blame him, the binfire the UK has become in the past few years, with the shit weather, would make anyone pine for warmer climes. A wander down Las Ramblas on winters day, or Market St.?
the reality versus the fantasy might be somewhat different, once the chaos of Barca kicks in, the press are on your back after losing in the Classico, but we all need a challenge in life, maybe he’s become too comfortable here?

It’s a tough argument to make to dyed in the wool Mancs who have never ventured away but the truth is once you’ve enjoyed a sunshine lifestyle it’s a hard one to shake off.
I travelled from 17, seen the positives and negatives but the negatives have never ever outweighed the pusitivesz
I’m sat at an infinity pool atm overlooking the sea with a bucket of vodka and mixers and it’s still in the high 20’s.
It’s not the life for everyone but it’s one for me.

It's about thirty degrees in Longsight right now and I feel like I could die so maybe it's a trade I like better in theory.

Still pretty jealous though.

Funny how they miss next part of his sentence, Manchester City know how I feel but they are in business and they want the right money for me ..

Reading through some of the Barca forums. They seem to think it’s this summer or no for Bernardo. They are talking about him being past his peak at 29 and not worth a big fee and think we will extend at City if nothing happens this year.

They also think it settles on FDJ deal being done which I am hoping really does not happen.

You’re not alone judging from this thread. I happen to believe, very confidently, that he is going nowhere until next season.
We shall see. Just over two weeks for each side of the argument to tell the other side they are wrong.. :-)

I don't think he's leaving either, I just don't think it's true that Barca couldn't afford him. I think the stumbling block will be the lack of feasible replacements at such short notice.

They just signed Lewandowski and in recent years have picked up Alves, Aubameyang and now Alonso. Some cheek going on about past his peak at 29...

Even at his age, David Silva could hold his own with his shoelaces tied together in that league. I'm sure Bernardo has a few years left in those old legs even if he didn't quite, as we'd hoped, turn out to be as good as El Mago.

With Bernardo clearly wanting out, I think we should bite the bullet and swap him for FDJ. Think he would be brilliant in a Pep team and can play as a 6 or an 8. Can even cover at CB. Don't think he has done amazing at Barca but he is definitely a top player.

I don’t understand their need for a huge central midfield signing. They already have Pedri , Gavi , Kessie , De Jong , Pjanic , Busquets. If I was them I would have kept Nico Gonzalez . I’d take him at City

I mean. I’ve got to think, the interview was done with his and i assume the club’s agreement. A very clear way to express. The lad is yours. 100 million euros, but we must have a replacement. I highly doubt we’ll sell once we’ve gone past 15-20th of August. But again I reiterate, why go through this scenario again, in 9-10 months. Get it done, sign, replace be done.

Jude in the summer, and Paqueta probably now.

We’re still winning the league, we’re still the best team in England, and top 3 in the World.

He’s not Messi in his prime, he’s not Xavi, he is tough to replace, I’d give you that, but we can.
We didn’t die after: Kompany, Aguero, Silva. We are not exploding after Bernardo.

I can see Matheus Nunes a city player at some point too

They’re fucked in the head mate, it’s all because of Real pissing on their existence massively. Which they will continue to do, because they’re Real Madrid. They can’t hack it. It’s why they are here in the first place. Egotistical, shallow, TikTok driven club. As soon as the pissed on Leo it was clear what they are, and what they represent. A footbalistic cancer, a genital wart embedded in the big boys club, because the little fella and Pep made them relevant.
