He wants to go to Barca at some point

Wasnt that arsed about PSG, gets a bumper payrise for a year and if Barca pay up the RC he can go there next summer if they don’t he see’s it out on 300k a week.

his contract is until 2025 without renewal and next year with one year left city would have to sell him for cheap so whats the point of release clause
Bah, got confused by your wording. Thought we were talking about Julian....

I’ve no issue with that at all, if Barça cough up the valuation of any player we have then they can go. The same applies to any player or any club. We are a business and our feelings as fans mean nothing in reality in relation to said business. We may not like it but players come and go, it’s how it’s always been and always will be.

Are we really believing Jose Alvarez who’s the equivalent of any KFA on here, and only built a reputation from being pals with Aguero and Laporte? He literally knows nothing about our business. Makes total sense we’d bump Bernardo’s wages and then put a €50m release clause for next year hahahaha like we could just keep him for another 2 years if that’s the case and let him go afterwards.

Same old rubbish sold by Barcelona journalists to their fans so they can keep believing in their failure of a league and project

We won’t know until he’s sold what the release clause value is (or if there is one), but it makes sense that there would be one. Logically, a guy that’s wanted to leave for 2+ years signing a 1 year extension is not a guy committing his long term future to the club. We’d love it to be, but it isn’t. So a release clause makes sense, or simply just us preserving his value ahead of next summer. But I really don’t think his desire to leave has gone away. The new deal will either be to make it easier for him to leave (a reasonable release clause), or it will be for City’s benefit in terms of not seeing his value deteriorate too much. There’ll be an understanding between both parties that this is not to block his departure or put an end to it. That’s just common sense imo. Nothing wrong with it either, we know Bernardo is able to forget about his future when he’s on the pitch and will always give everything he has.

As if Bernardo would accept 300K per week wages just to go on 120K a week in the latter stage of his career for love of Barcelona! No players that daft.

giving him like 300k a week is dumb if hes leaving next year

this bernardo RC news is either bollocks or the clubs taking the piss. i dont see how it makes sense. without the new deal, hed have 2 years left, 1 year left next summer which means wed be forced to accept lower bids or lose him on a free the very next summer.

with the new deal, you basically double his wages and still let him leave next summer for 47m? that is just stupid.

Stupid ? So please enlighten us .

ask WHU to renew with Paqueta today for double the salary for 3 years but with an active RC clause from today of 47m.
which we can come in and activate.

thats how fucking mad this is...
