Best and worst refereeing decisions in City matches

I'll start - I think Daz Vassell looked suspiciously offside when he bagged our second against ManYoo under Pearce in the 3-1 in 2006. Nice one ref!

Analysis of the replay shows that Vassell was bang on level, although I admit, in real time he looked well off.

The worst one has to be Alf Grey ruling out Kevin Reeves' goal in the League Cup Semi against Liverpool in 1981.

The Alan Wilkie one at Old Trafford was strange. 99 times out of 100 it would have been let go but, by the letter of the law, he was well within his rights to give it.

Worst I can remember was against Tranmere away, must have been 1999? We were winning 1-0, and i remember a terrible offside being given against us. Sure they took the freekick twice, handled it as well, went right up the other end whilst we were arguing and got a penalty themselves. Must have only been 5 mins left. Terrible.

worst. = penalty against frotzeck at swamp
dissalowing dunnes free kick v wba

best = 5mins at wembley
4mins v qpr
5 minutes. The Alf Grey and Alan Wilkie ones take som beating in the "worst" category. For the best; Mark Halsey's 5 minutes in '99 and Mike Dean last May rank highly.

In some of our defeats at Man U through the 2000's at Old Trafford quite a few goals the likes of Winker and Nistleroy scored at the Stretford End looked well offside.
But good refereeing decisions include giving us that penalty Vass missed in 2007 and missing Ball standing on Winker.
Didn't Thatcher avoid getting sent off for his assault on Mendes as well?

Robinho v palace disallowed, flaged offside
Even though he was in our half when then ball was passed forward

What about Wilkes awarding a penalty to Alan Smith at Elland Road around 2003.
He was about 5 yards outside the box when Dunney fouled him and he dived forward into the box and the blind twat of a ref gave the penalty.
Always hated Smith and his blatant cheating against us made it even worse.

clive thomas at derby away late 70's disallowing a tueart goal claiming he had blown the full time whistle, like he did in the 78 world cup brazil v sweden, sure it was tueart i was only young so someone maybe able to clarify.

george courtney away at grimsby 1983/84, anyone who was there will never forget his bent display.

norwich away under royle i think, the black linesman who single handedly robbed city all night with woeful decisions, cannot remember how many goals he cost us.

roger milford disallowing a perfectly good goal from niall quinn at highbury, denying us a very very rare win there.

alan wilkie at old trafford, just corrupt.

Ha ha, I'd forgotten that plank, was it Mark Kennedy or Kev Horlock that he flagged offside with a defender practically stood on the goal-line?

It was Alan Wiley, the same fucking twat that laughed and joked with Pisscan after the Owen goal in the 19th minute of time added on!
