The battered cod in fallowfield is pretty good but if you want proper fish and chips you need to go to the Yorkshire coast *tinhaton*
The Battered Cod sit-down chippy in Withington is also ace.
Michael's in Ladybarn used to be very good but less so since the old Cypriot boy retired.
Apparently he fell through the flat roof last week and got stuck, only his head peeping out, the fire brigade had to come and rescue him!

-- Wed Mar 28, 2012 8:06 pm --

Fosters in Alderley Edge.
Is that the one opposite Kentucky Fried Pheasant?

If any of you come to Paphos (I know it's not Manchester) You'll have to go to Mandria Fish and chips near the airport. The guy uses imported Icelandic Cod and local Potatoes. I guarantee it will blow any Fish and chip shop in Manchester cleanly out of the water.

Incidentally, the best Fish and Chips I had was in Wisbech called "Franks" and you got a choice of loin or tail. Had to queue 40-50 meters outside the door on a Friday night I shit you not.

The pic is from it's sister restaurant called Santa Marina.

Barney's on Moss Lane, Altrincham (opposite Altrincham FC) is pretty damn good.
Is that the one that used to be called Robins or something? The one on same road but further towards alty used to be nice too.
