probably the first gig I ever went to at Blackburn King Georges Hall - Buzzcocks supported by Joy Division!!

I challenge anyone to better that as a first live gig?
Whilst it wasn't my first gig
I went to see the Buzzcocks with Joy Division as support at the Apollo
Then went to an after gig bash as the photographer with a reporter who was some cockney **** who spent the night deriding JD
I gave him a smack for his troubles and got asked to leave the party

The Who at the Elizabethan Hall (Belle Vue) circa 1974, unbelievable Jeff
Could it have been the following year? I saw them there in September or October 1975.

And I'll add Led Zep at Knebworth in 1979 and the Stones at Maine Road in 1990.
BB King at whatever the MEN Arena is called this week.
Floyd at Stafford.

King Prawn at the Witchwood. It was fucking mental.

That and Radiohead at LCCC. I was off my fucking face on Mr Men acid. MGMT and Bat for Lashes supported.

PB reckons it was 75, which is why I put circa 74 as I couldn't decide between 74-76

From 73 to 80 must have been to about two gigs a week and some years seem to fade into others

Saw Led Zepp at the old Stoneground, they were ok

AC/DC,Bon Scott Glasgow Apollo.
The Clash Glasgow Apollo,Rude Boy footage.
The Jam also Glasgow Apollo.
Recenly
Lucinda Williams,Glasgow Concert Hall 2003.
Drive By Truckers,Arches 2006.
Ryan Adams and the Cardinals,Edinburgh Picturehouse 2008.

The Smiths at Salford University July 1986 - the day after they appeared at the GMEX Festival of the 10th Summer with New Order and The Fall + more.

The Salford gig was amazing..... pure energy from fans and band.

Never went to the gig at Maxwell Hall, but had it on VHS. Mental concert.

Morrissey at Wolverhampton Civic Hall Dec 1988. His first gig after The Smiths had split. I'd broke up with my first ever bird the night before. Met some local lads on the train, one of which is still a best mate 25 years on.

Stone Roses 1st comeback concert in a Barcelona nightclub last year was brilliant. After the gig, they had a Madchester night in the venue until 5am.

Al Jarreau, Manchester Apollo around 85/6. Outstanding.

Steely Dan in Liverpool about 7 years ago.

Pink Floyd - earls court, first ever gig.
Page and Plant - MEN, I lost both my shoes..
My Bloody Valentine - Apollo.. Got stoned with a bunch of danish who had flew over especially. Brilliant
Flaming Lips - Apollo.. Twice

Bowie
Radiohead
RATM
Queens of the Stone age.

All the gigs were ace

Genesis @ NEC , 20 Sept 1982 (this was the last tour they did, playing their really old stuff). My first and BEST gig

Honourable mentions to
Queen and Quo 16 July 1986 @ God's little acre

Billy Idol (yes, Billy Idol) NEC 1990
Steve Hackett Manc Academy 2010

Most disappointing would be The Stranglers (supporting Simple Minds @ God's little acre 1991). They hardly played anything that anybody new. Even die-hard Stranglers fans were shaking their heads
