Life is Beautiful is indeed amazing. Should be right up there with Schindler's List, imo. For some reason people get very snobby about it because of the film's light tone despite the subject content.

Check out 'Audition'.

Never, ever, ever, EVER watch this film. It's the first time I've wanted to climb behind the sofa ever since I got freaked out in the cinema aged 4 by ET throwing sweets back out of the greenhouse to Eliot.

I bet everyone makes a point of watching it now.

But seriously, don't.

Although for most of the film, you'll wonder why I've said this.

And then you'll suddenly realise.

But by then, it'll be too late.

So watch Ichi The Killer afterwards.

Erm, you're kind of along the right lines.

I think what made it worse was that I didn't know what to expect.

So I'm not telling. I'd recommend you don't find out beforehand.
