Best gig you've ever been to

Michael Jackson Leeds 1988
AC/DC MEN Arena
Flaming Lips Apollo
Was the Flaming Lips gig about 2006/7? It is the gig that immediately springs to mind when I’ve been asked what my favourite is. They released a load of orange inflatable balls into the crowd at the end if I remember right. Wayne Coyne is some showman

Reading festival 75 and my right of passage. Dr feelgood .. Hawkwind ..UFO .Yes and the hallowed Jon Anderson from the leafy shires of Accrington and the inceredible Wishbone Ash Supertramp and Joan Amertrading and many many more and a big respect to the Hare Krishna lads for their copious amount of lentil soup and all for six English pounds
That’s some line up mate.

Kate Bush at the Eventim Apollo.

I saw her at the Manchester Apollo on her first tour. She was sensational.

But the actual best gig I ever went to was this one:

I think Morrissey is writing about the same concert. It was back in '78 or '79 and was at a venue close to Manchester University.

I wish I could remember the name of it. The Cramps were extraordinary that night (it was the original line-up with Bryan Gregory).

On edit: it wasn't the one Morrissey attended as the Police didn't play (thank fuck).

You are a lucky lad seeing her on the original tour. I have followed her career since The Kick Inside and almost uniquely I think, her music gets even more beautiful with each new album. I have never been at a gig where there was so much love towards the artist on the stage. It was really unlike anything I have experienced before or since. A truly remarkable performance.
