I think I was at that ADF gig. Rafi’s Revenge still gets heavy rotation on my phone.

That and Community Music were my favourite albums. Deeder Zaman was a great vocalist for his age.

Saw the Jam at new bingley hall must have been 79 or 80 they were fantastic live

Guns & Roses at Main Road.

G&R were great when they eventually came on, but the support act's (Faith No More & Soundgarden) were top drawer.

Pulp in Sheffield in 2012 was probably my favourite.

Both bloc party and Kings of Leon at the appolo were really memorable, as was oasis at the etihad.

Saw Sleaford mods & Richard ashcroft at barrowlands last year and they were also very good gigs.

Someone mentioned arcade fire at castlefield bowl. I saw elbow & nadine shah there a few weeks ago and thought the venue was mint. I imagine arcade fire would have been a top gig there.

The Russell club was in Hulme next to the crescents. Became the Factory. I lived next door in Charles Barry Crescent.

Most enjoyable probably Asian Dub Foundation 2004 Manchester Academy or The Vandals at Highbury Garage in 1996.

ADF were a great live band. Saw them do a very interesting live soundtrack of the classic French film "The Battle of Algiers" at Brighton Dome. A few years later they did the same with "La Haine", but i missed that one.

I met Satpal Ram (the Indian waiter who was banged up for a murder committed in self defence and who was ADF's cause celebre) in HMP Full Sutton once.
