Best goal ever seen......

not only a great goal but a headed goal that was like a bullet

[86/87] Mick McCarthy vs Manchester Utd, Oct 26th 1986

Always liked Mick McCarthy as a player for us, liked him as wolves manager as well, no nonsense and always came across as an honest guy. Oh and yes, a great goal, puts him in my legends category automatically as he scored against the rags!!!
Same feelings bout McCarthy... watching this video, know that Im feckin getting old... first kit i was wanted to buy but no money, like always those days....

Jim Melrose v Notts County 1984. If memory serves it was a volley on the half turn from the half way line. Wasn't televised but if you were there you know. Nothing I've seen since has come close.

Rod Marsh scored crackers in two successive home games. I saw the first and heard the second - another commitment within earshot of Maine Road.

Kinky's goal v. Southampton is my City favourite but I have to come back to this:
even the ref applauded!

Didn't win goal of the season; lost out to some routine but spectacular volley
Can't remember us winning something those days, but who cares now?.... We was there when we were shit, and after all we r Manchester city from Maine Road...

Dave Watson's header against Ipswich in 77 or Brian Kidd' diving header at the end of a brilliant team move against Villa the following season.
Then again three of the seven goals against Stoke in 2017. Sterling's following the disguised pass by KDB, Ferna's rocket and Sane at the far post from Kev's cross field pass.

So many amazing goals already mentioned. The one by City legend Danny Mills vs Everton is worthy of a mention. Always nice to remember proper players who gave their all for the club

1) Denis Law back heel to relegate the Rags (1-0)
2) Sane’s goal against Liverpool (2-1) at home for their only loss.
3) Vinny’s header against United (1-0)
4 & 5) Yaya & Nasri at Wembley. Both ridiculous strikes of the ball.

And, Salah vs City will win Goal of the Season. Already chosen!

These 2 team goals weren't shoddy either

Shearer’s often quite sound about City under Pep. His MOTD summary of the Gundogan 44-pass goal though was the ultimate Bad Take. When future generations want a look at what made this City team Great, it’ll this goal they return to, again and again. And generations of kids will say: “ Dad… why is the bald man going on and on about what the team in red are not doing, rather than what the team in blue are doing? Which is pretty fucking amazing, by the way.”
