Vinny's in the 1-0 derby
Worthingtons at Burnden
Dickov '99

Told you!

I went to this game, but I don't remember Alex Williams playing so well.

Nobody mentioned Steve Mackenzie at Wembley. I missed it at the time because it was kicking off all over the place, just like the quarter final at Goodison.

You've lost me mate..

You have to read the original post when he thought the Baker goal was from a different game.
What about Paul Power in the San Sito?

To clear up the earlier post about David Rocastle's blinding bit of skill down the right touchline to create a goal, the scorer who turned the ball in was Carl Griffiths - it was v Ipswich on Feb 5th 1994.
It was the last goal that Griffiths ever scored for us (he only got four). I remember it well. It was indeed outstanding. It's not often that one flash of sheer magic sticks in the memory for 20 years. I don't suppose anyone can post a vid of it?
Well remembered, Sabbs.

Oh yes, who could forget Carl griffiths.
I've searched for this goal and can not find it anywhere. Real class from rocky. Would fit into this team today he would.

Wonder no more. Your search is over...

1977 Peter Barnes v Spurs is right up there for me. Sold Jennings a fucking corking dummy, chipped it in, then ran back laughing his bollocks off. I remember thinking that we were on the cusp of becoming a championship winning team that season. barnes, Tueart. How fucking wrong I was and how fucking badly it all slipped into shit, not two seasons later.

On a brighter note: Not Top Ten, but some of faves “in the flesh”

Sergio. NOTHING could ever match it. Ever.
Dickov Gillingham
Yaya FA Cup Semi. The changing of the guard.
Vinny Derby header. The title suddenly became a reality.
Kinky v Southampton. Kinky v Oxford away.
Gidman FA Cup v Huddersfield. Went fucking berserk. (Does anyone remember someone chucking their crutches on the pitch, or did I imagine it?)
White tenth goal.
Clive Wilson v Liverpool at home - they murdered us (on the park, off it was a different matter - so I’m told!) and Euclid (his actual name) popped up after Gordon Davies fluffed a one on one.
Stefan Karl away at The Dell. Late on, almost guaranteed staying up.
Kinky at home v Villa.
Peter Reid away at Villa (day of start of Strangeways riots I think - not sure the two were linked).
Uwe / Paul Walsh at Newcastle in League cup - could it possibly be our year for a trophy? No.
Fowler v Utd 3-1, smashed it in near end after we nearly made a balls of it.
Dave Watson header v Ipswich. Best header I’ve seen.

And Sergio. Sweet sweet Sergio. For EVERYTHING it meant.

No. Lost me again Scaring. I've had a hard day.

paul power fa cup semi-final versus ipswich at villa park , ipswich were the best team in the league at the time , and paul put a 25 yard free kick in the onion bag giving cooper no chance , we went ballistic ,and it got us to wembley , good times.

The FA Cup semi at villa park with time running out in extra time up stepped Paul Power to curl in a free kick 25 yards out into the top corner of the net and send us to Wembley in 81 fucking he'll still sends shivers down my spine

So many it is hard to pick. But one that sticks in my mind is Rodney Marsh against Newcastle. Sent the whole defence the wrong way with a feint and then curled the ball into the far bottom corner. I was stood behind the goal that night and it was poetry in motion.

The Cross!!!!!!

Jensen volley against Leeds was very nice. SWP against villa away , top goal top day. . All the Wembley goals deserve a shout (from Dickov onwards) special moments all of them.

Not really great but more for what it meant, it was my son's first match we left home at 6am and choose wolves 10th april 04 cos wolves were bottom and hadnt won away from home. City were losing 2-3 when swp popped up with an equaliser in the deading minutes, making our long journey home all the more better

Game in Selhurst Park, 99. Le tissier scored two worldies against Wimbledon, one from about 40 yards, the other direct from a corner, can't pick between them.
