If you can make it to heaton moor, La Casona‎ is a great tapas place, and is quite reasonable.

Only been in there once, went past it last night on the way to Heatons Tandoori...man that place is always excellent

Try Thai is rated the number one restaurant in Manchester with trip advisor.

Went to Albert's Shed in castlefield on wednesday evening. Very good food!
Will certainly go again. They also do a 2 course for £10 menu that you can have up until 7pm. very reasonable.

Planning to go to el rincon de rafa next week. heard good things, but cannot find any menu online. Anyone been? Thoughts?

No I couldn't find a menu online either. Plenty of choice though when you get there so there is something for everyone.

Went at dinner with work. They had some deal on, 12 Tapas dishes for £10, something like that. It was a bit food overload for my liking, so I ordered 3 tapas dishes (fillet steak was beautiful) and a bit of bread. Very nice.

Whilst everyone was filling their faces, I had a walk round looking at the City & Deportivo memorabilla on the walls.

Paan House on Ayers rd in Old Trafford(sorry). Only a cafe, not one for a first date but excellent Punjabi grub

Went to The Alchemist in Spinningfields on Sunday night....food was excellent!

Manchester is a culinary wilderness. For a place which is constantly bigging itself up as being 'a major city' not having ONE michelin starred restaurant is frankly embarrassing.

I have eaten at all the citys so called resturants- Rosso, el rincon, san carlos, The Lime Tree, The Market, Michael Caines at Abode, Chaophraya etc etc etc and it's all pretty average. Not bad food by any standards, just plain average and over priced in the main.
god ive missed you !

Go to Akbars on Liverpool street. Far better than anywhere on curry mile.

It's true though isn't it, even cities which Manchester consider beneath them have a few....it really lets the city down.
