Better Call Saul

Got a love hate relationship with this show. I'm not bothered about shows being slow to build but with this I just don't think it need 5 series to get to this point. All that time as Jimmy and bollocks with his brother.

That said the acting is very good and Kim is the star of the whole show which is quite something when you think of the other actors in it.

It isnt bollocks with his brother, it is a great back story to how he ended up deciding to be Saul Goodman and dealing with a drug cartel while Howard from HHM is offering a prestigious job. All relevant stuff. I loved the slow burning deeply involved back information. Those earlier series were a lovely quiet hour passed once a week.

I agree with you.

My opinion is of that it was so slow in the first 3 series, I can hardly recall what happened bar his brother being a tin foil hat nut job.

Just what I want in a series - 50 hours of a lovey quiet time passed.

They could have easily condensed the first five series into two. We got the picture very early on with his brother and his partner and his relationship with the law and that he was a good guy that occasionally did bad things often for the right reasons bla bla bla.

and everything they do is some kind of set up where someone is pretending to be someone else(as if) ffs....then Mike comes into it & just when you think something might actually happen it goes back to them in a bastard boardroom....bored the tits off me....

The story isn't just aboit saul though.

It is the story or how Mike goes from a police detectuve to working as the head enforcer for fring

We get the story of Gus fring and the Salamancas their fued and how hector got where he was and how Tucco rose to being the head of the family.

This and BB is old fashoned story telling with his charactors being given life, so many shows now rush through stories and charactors back stories which then become two dimensional.

I absolutely love this show, I haven't seen the new season yet unfortunately. The pace of the show is fantastic in my eyes, a bit like Ray Donovan, it builds up nicely
