Probably because Henry's was dealt with on the spot and, as far as I know, no-one suffered a broken leg? As I said earlier, unfortunately for Nigel he has 2 bouts of previous, one of which was just short of being an assault, (Alonso). This latest one, whilst being a fair challenge, is being highlighted because of the previous he has unfortunately amassed. Some Dutch commentator was on TS then and, by the sounds of it, Nige is about as popular as shit in a sandwich in Holland at the moment, and no more so than because of the Alonso incident. Its unfortunate for Nige that a fair challenge has been reacted too in this way, however I think that is down to his previous, and not solely this Ben Arfa incident.Blue_Times said:For those that have seen Karl Henrys challenge against Wigan this weekend, why has this not been subject to the medias spotlight yet De Jongs tough but fair tackle is being lambasted?

I'd be lying if I say I have, however i'm just making the point this is why Nige is being treated negatively on this occasion. Billyshears has made a good point though, it was Van Marwijk who set his team to play aggressively, and now appears to be making Nige his scapegoat for the stick he (Van Marwijk) got from the Dutch fans at setting his team out that way, a very un-Dutch way to play.Blue_Times said:Pigeonho said:Probably because Henry's was dealt with on the spot and, as far as I know, no-one suffered a broken leg? Good point. But Henry also has previous. Did you see the treatment he dished out when Wolves faced Newcastle?
Greyco said:I applaud the decision of the Dutch FA. It was a reckless and over-agressive challenge which endangered the safety of another player.
And it's not the first leg De Jong has broken... I'm pleased the Dutch took this decision because it's bad rep for them. That WC-final destroyed decades of history of great football they had build up.
Oh, and according to a number of polls in the Dutch media, 70% of the supporters are behind the decision taken by Van Marwijk.
