Can I just add that his goal against West Brom was credited as an own goal, despite it being quite clearly his. So one more for the tally please.

I'm sure it was later given, it stated this in one of the porgrammes.

It was given to him, but it did go down as an own goal at first

Nope just checked the OS.

I know its from wikipedia but:
He scored his second consecutive goal with a back heel in a league game against West Bromwich, but the goal was officially ruled as an own goal, because it hit the post and then the goalkeeper to be finally in. The goal was later given back to Caicedo after reconsideration from the Dubious Goals Committee

Some of you have short memories. Last year you were all calling him shite this and shite that. Yet now you're all scampering to the boards to one-up each other.

"OH yeah??? Well I wasn't slagging Big Phil off last year when he signed, I thought he looked quality in every sub appearance he made."

"Oh YEAH? Well I was the one who said Big Phil should be signed up before we were even linked with him!"

"OH YEAH????? Well I was in Ecuador when Big Phil was just a youth player and I was watching his youth games before I said to myself, 'Blimey, look at that world-class player they've got' So I recommended him to Rocafuerte to tie him down to a full-time contract (and naturally cause I was a City fan they recognized I was a world-class football scout) and they did. Then I got on the blower to Basel to snap him up later on. They snapped him up (for some strange reason they weren't happy with me but he banged in 12 in 44 playing in the Swiss League and I think that's a fantastic record so they didn't take my calls after that). Obviously I recognised Big Phil's talent, so I got on the blower to Sven (he's a good mate of mine) and told him to snap him up as he'd soon be the next Drogba."

Summed all of your posts up mate, you just can't accept change. I don't think was even using this board when Forevercity and co were defending him, to be honest until Christmas I thought he was probably not going to make it. Then he slowly won me over and now I'll defend him all day long. Also if so many people like him, and you're the only one who seemingly doesn't (Even Daniel Sturridge/De Niro have acknowledged he is doing well) maybe, just maybe, you need to have a rethink.

All I have said is that Big Phil's goal scoring record, when compared to Drogba's at a similar age is far superior and that must be a sign hes got a chance of making it somehow.

*groan* You do realize a lot of people probably had better goal scoring records than Drogba at that age and a lot of them won't have made it either. Has Caicedo got a chance? Absolutely. Will he make it? Probably not.

vbr may be a bit hard on big phil but he has a point, the kid wont make it,that doesnt mean id slag him off, just know he wont make it at our club as we move into the big time.ok for somebody like wolves.burnley etc

Name me 5 strikers who at the age of 20, preferably from a league outside of Europe but if you can't name from inside, who in their first 15 starts have scored more than 8 goals (Bonus points if they were playing as a lone striker). If you can't then I think your claims are false.

So he does well at a mid-table level at the age of 20, then for some reason he will have a to drop down a level or two to find football? I can accept he may not make it as a first choice striker at a top 6 club but to suggest he will decline in worth it crazy, he has atleast 5 years before his prime.

Yes because I'm going to google around for hours trying to disprove your theory that scoring 5 league goals in 27 total league appearances somehow means Caicedo is going to turn into a world class player in 5 years time when infact he was bottom of the strikers pile this year before everyone got crocked and scored a brace of tap-ins when we were rampant against Hull, a five-time deflected shot against West Brom (which was actually an own-goal) and a few more tap-ins against Blackburn and Bolton. I may be a tad harsh on him, but to say he's going to lead the line for City in 5 years time is a joke. He'll be a squad player at best next season and will likely be farmed somewhere else where he can shine in the first-team.

Once again you have nothing to back up what you're saying, you merely say things. I could say I watch City train and Caicedo scores atleast 3 30 yard screamers a session, but that would be talking shit so I don't.

And you have something to back up your claim he's going to be immense in 5 years in his prime? Pure speculation and merely your opinion. Oh wait you're going on about the fact he's scored 5 league goals at 20? Yes clearly it's set in stone he's going to make it to the very top. It's very likely he trains hard and works in training, but you know the old saying, you can't polish a turd because it'll still be a turd.
