Big Phil Haters

The thing about him being amazingly slow is a myth, proof of that was when he ran with the ball all the way to their penalty area from our half and nobody caught him. I think Big Phil will go from crowd boo boy to crowd favourite Goater style if he manages to stay in the team next season, and also could be worth about 12 goals in all competitions to us.

Got to be honest, i did think Sven made a mistake buying this lad, but im glad to see my words have been firmly put down my throat. The only grudge i do have is i think he can put himself about more than he does.

But yep, vast improvement on Samaras ;)

I think we should loan him out to Germany.

He needs to work on his reactions and how quick off the mark he is.

We need to slow down and have patience as a club. The arabs are showing that they are going to build gradually and that includes developing promising young players, we can't just throw money at everything. Caicedo has shown that he will be a useful squad member next season and maybe over time he can develop into a class player. Look at Stephen Ireland, who would have thought he would have become the player he has this year, I remember everybody wanting him sold last summer (not me by the way), how gutted would we all be now if he had had the season he has had at anoher club. I don't think anybody wants to see a team packed with big money signings, although I would like to see some but I want players in the team that I have seen develop. That's just me however other people may think differently.

i wouldnt consider loaning him out, his goal ratio is now very competitive.

i hold my hands up, and thought we had got a dud, because he showed very little in his first few games, but now we are all seeing a real improvement.

he is linking play well, him and robbie yesterday had an excellent understanding, he is competing for the ball, and he is showing some awareness.

i think he deserves a lot of credit, and sven's decision to sign him is looking justified.

also working under mark hughes will really help him, someone who knows the role big phil is trying to play.

if he can transfer his form to away games, then he is well on the way to making the grade.

Whether we loan him out depends what type and how many strikers we bring in. I would agree with loaning to a european league if he'd just stepped off a plane from Equador, as it is though, he has already overcome the steepest part of the prem learning curve already by being thrown in at the deep end, therefore if we do loan him out it should be to a prem club as this is the league he needs to advance in.

For me he should have been young player of the year, he was so far out of the picture at the start of the season, but he stuck at it and has put together a pretty good year. Should he start no, should he come close to starting no, but he, in my view is very much a keeper.
And Petrov is a left back too eh? Only messing.

Bog Phil has made it clear to MH that he wants nothing more than to prove his worth and believes this has been his best season so far, he is loved by the squad and he loves the club - one more season and he will be awesome!

Yesterday was his best game by far. I've backed him all the time he's been here and I've enjoyed his performances this season more than any other players.

The thing that I like the most about him is how he, like Ireland, has knuckled down and taken his limitted chances that he's got this season despite all the flack he takes. Then I look at Sturridge who sulked and refused to acknowledge the crowd after some fans moaned after he had a poor 30 minutes, and then claims he deserves a contract players his age wouldn't even dream of asking for.

I'd rather Caicedo stayed at City than Sturrdige to be honest. I don't hate Sturridge, but despite the fact that some people think Caicedo is lightyears away from Sturridge in ability, he's lightyears ahead of him in terms of attitude.
