Big Phil Haters

I've come round to him over the last few months.

Guy will be a class act in a few years

Would be mad to get rid of him.

Likewise, he hadn't been given a chance, but still think he's a bit cumbersome on the ball

Won't be a starter next season however you look at it. And would you tits stop comparing him to Drogba and wanking over his 5 yard tap-ins. Squad player at best.

May well be so next season, deffo the best currently at the club though (tips it over Bellamy due to him being a crock).

How about we look at his 8 (9) goals in 14 games and Hughes realises thats a very good return and we will struggle to sign someone better. (Yes Drogba, Villa and co are better but they aren't realistic, I could only really see Carew, RSC, Gomez coming in ahead of him)

I'm sure you followed Drogba's early career? He spent 4 years in the French division 2 where he scored 12 goals in 65 games, Big Phil is 2/3s of the way there in a tougher league playing less than 25% of Droba's games.

A goal from 5 yards counts the same as one from 50 mate and if he was waiting at the edge of the box for the screamer the goals wouldn't be scored.

If we sign some very good players then yes, personally I can't see us signing more than 2 strikers better than him and if we do I think they will be fairly injury prone (Carew, RSC).

erickson know,s how to spot a player with potentail if he had blistering pace and could hold the ball up better then we would,nt have to splash out on a new center forward be a good idea to looan him to newcastle for a season or 2 and take martins off them. caciedo will do a job for a mid table team in the prem its just if he can do a stevie ireland and continue to improve if he can then who knows where the lad can go

How about we look at his record before that? "We will struggle to sign someone better"? PMSL. There are plenty of better quality strikers out there that could easily claim "Big Phil"'s place in the starting line-up and I'm sure we'll be linked with over 9000 of them during the summer.

*groan* Caicedo isn't in the same class as Drogba. "Big Phil" has a chronic lack of pace, can't jump more than a foot off the ground and has a first-touch comparable to Benjani. Obviously he has some good points like the occasional surging run and tapping in 5 yarders at the end of a move he's rarely part of, but other than that comparing him to Drogba is laughable.

at least you CONSTANTLY chat shit ;)

BOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hughes pretty much summed it up yesterday. He's not the finished product but he's got potential. 8 goals...9 really...in half a season is a job well done and there's nothing anyone can say to change my mind on that.
