Black man in the US arrested for eating

When a cop asks "Are you going to cooperate?", I find it best to not argue, wherever you are in the world.

I once got accused of dropping a bag of chips on the floor by a copper driving by. I hadn't but when threatened with arrest I picked up the litter because it was the smart thing to do. Same as when I was accused of speeding when doing 25 in a 30 zone, despite the copper not having a speed gun. As soon as I queried that I was threatened with obstructing their duties so just agreed to drive slower.

This guy is upset he's been accused of something and wants to make it a bigger issue when he should be smarter.
What a good little subservient thing.

You think in both cases I should have argued and been detained therefore wasting my time? Both times the coppers were more aggressive than the copper in this video, the first time it was a black copper (possible racism) and the second time a female copper (possible sexism). I'll never know and doubt I could have taken either issue forward (both were in another time anyway) but I find it easier to deal with dickish people by walking away than confronting them.

Reminds me of that black guy in Birmingham who was stopped 84 times by the police. Won his harassment case. A comic commented "You are charged with driving, whilst being black".

Yes you should have been truthful and not accepted liability for things you didn’t do. It’s not a police state.

So it's 30 seconds of do as you're told, or a night in the cell and "is this your bag of weed, sir?". No thanks! It's hardly fitting me up for the crime of the century, maybe they've just had a bad day and I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I’ve never admitted to something I’ve not done and never had to spend a night in the cells as a result.

It seems San Francisco just decriminalized public urination.

But don’t eat on the train platform.

Well my initial response was denial both times, but their retorts were somewhat aggressive. In both cases I was tempted to ask for their number but decided against.

Perversely, the only other time I was approached by a copper and accused of something, he was as nice as pie and accepting of my protestations - and I actually was guilty.
