was in darwen end...got on pitch then got thrown out at 85 minutes. was stood next to bluebird. why bother what people sing about. we got 3 points.

I thought we deserved it - just.

I thought we were strolling to a 5-0 win after the first ten minutes, but Blackburn filled the holes in the midfield that we were passing through and matched us physically. For 60 minutes, bounces and flicks were going Blackburn's way, Balotelli didn't look interested at all, and I thought Mancini had surrendered the points when he brought Dzeko on.

But Mancini's faith has paid off! Dzeko's strike could prove to be the most important goal this season. A win next week could actually see us more or less secure Champions League football. How great would that be?

Overall, I think the player ratings were:

Hart 8, Zabaleta 6, Kompany 7, Lescott 7, Kolarov 5, De Jong 7, Barry 6, Yaya Touré 6, Silva 8, Balotelli 6, Johnson 6.

Hands up on here who hasn't ever sung a song with a munich reference in it ?

I'm middle aged now but when I was a young man I used to belt out Munich songs with the best of 'em not because I gloried in a tragic plane crash but because it annoyed the rags and like many youngsters I had no real appreciation of death.

Older and wiser, I wouldn't dream of singing such songs now but that doesn't mean that exuberant drunk young men in a boisterous mood should be condemned as classless just for a throwaway reference to a distant tragedy.

Firstly, if you're referring to that humour as 'working-class' or to me as middle-class, you're wrong on both counts. Secondly, don't exaggerate the importance of this game, Tottenham will drop another 6 points before the season finishes, to an in-form Chelsea and City, so don't pretend the 'importance' of this result should mask over what were fairly sickening chants.

Thought we were going to bury them in the first 20 mins. Second half was mainly dire, passing was awful but NDJ and the defence did well, by and large. Great to see Dzeko score and thought that Phil Jones who plays for Blackburn looked quality. I wouldn't mind us signing him in the summer!
