Sadly passed away.

A man has died after a fight between football fans outside a pub.

Blackpool FC said they were "deeply shocked and saddened" to learn that fan Tony Johnson had "tragically lost his life".

The 55-year-old was found with a serious head injury outside The Manchester bar on the Promenade in Blackpool at about 19:00 GMT on Saturday.

Supporters had clashed following the Blackpool v Burnley match.

Just seen that video.

It won’t, but you can only hope it makes like-minded ‘fans’ think twice next time they want to attack each other over football. That would take brain cells though.

Like many here I grew up in the heydays of football violence. Mainly tried to avoid it but sometimes you couldn't. I can see how if you get dragged in it becomes addictive with the adrenaline dump during a confrontation but over 50? Stupidity, particularly with the CCTV and banning orders these days. Occasionally I get that surge when fans are disrespecting our club and City but you really have to think rationally and walk away.

A sad state of affairs, I can still get passionate as fuck at 59 but I was a shithouse as a youngster, posing and being 10 men etc. Never a fighter apart from a couple of times I was cornered.

As I get older walking away is the way forward.

Just watched the video. It makes for grim viewing seeing what happened at the end. It actually didn’t look like the most violent of confrontations but it shows just how easily a life can be taken away with a single punch. That video of the Chelsea fan getting punched by a West Ham fan the other week - the Chelsea fan was goading Hammers and basically asking for a slap - could’ve ended the same way for him. It only takes your head to hit the floor in a certain way and it’s curtains.
 
The poor bloke.

It was only a few months back all those Dippers set about that West Ham fan at the garage.
That could quite easily of ended as another "football" tragedy.
