I would have thought the first team was up for it after the 7-1.

I can remember the same being said well over 15 years ago when Giggs, Scholes and Co was snotted 0-4 at Old trafford by Arsenal.

ive posted it before but none of those united starters in the cup were under 20, in fact the average age was over 24, about 7 or 8 had a number of international caps and all had pretty sizeable first team experience at other clubs or at United.

15 years ago not only did you have a very talented crop of kids coming through, you also had all the power in the transfer market to back it up.
