Look at this potential defensive set-up...

GoalKeepers: Given, Hart
Wing Backs: Richards, Boateng, Onouha, Bridge, Sylvinho
Centre Backs: Kompany, Lescott, Toure(K), Boyota
Defensive Mids: De Jong, Zabaleta, Barry, Toure(Y), Vieira

Hopefully, we won't be conceding too many goals next season.
Another quality left back (David Luiz) to replace Garrido perhaps.
All we need now is a creative midfielder and one more striker, although RSC did provide two goal assists last night against World Cup opposition.

-----------------Hart--------------
-Boateng--Kompany--Lescott--Luiz-
---------De Jong----Barry--------

When did we sign Toure(Y)?

Take out Bridge, Richards and Onuoha and replace them with proper defenders and we're laughin'

Another? One quality left back would be a start, preferably one who can both attack and defend, although even one of those two attributes would be an improvement on the current situation.

He's not the same player since he put on all that muscle, he won't have any pace or much agility imo, also he was great for us in the past, but would he be that great in this team?

Lol - "wingbacks"??. Not one of them is capable of performing such a role given their obvious lack of mobility.

Recruiting one in each position is paramount.

I remember Jan Molby being porky and lacking pace but it never seemed to affect his creativity?
