Blue Moon Playlist Review Club - Season 2 - Episode 27 - Out on blue 6 - Gone Too Soon (pg 438)

I started my last playlist with Bruce Hornsby's "The Black Rats of London". Who'd have thought I'd be back to the same album so soon?

The title track to the album is "Levitate" and it's based on Thomas Newman's score to The Shawshank Redemption.

"Levitate" - Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers

Nirvana- Come as you are.

Borrows from The Killing Joke - Eighties in '85. Which in turn borrows from The Equals - Baby come back in '68

(if i have understood this right).

For that song you can probably create an onward chain into the future too. House of Pain sing the I don't have a gun line in one of theirs but I imagine there's loads of tracks that take from it.

I could also fill this week with just Nirvana songs, that 'borrow' from others. If I decide to.

Ditto Led Zeppelin.

I am going to take the playlist in the spirit it's intended and not spend the week shitposting the likes of Bootylicious and Freak Like Me, however I think I will bundle those types of songs together and later in the week nominate the one that I think is the best of its type.

Interesting theme. I imagine The Beastie Boys will feature at some point.

Could be in guilty pleasure territory too here. For example, I'm tempted to nominate something that brilliantly samples Edge of Seventeen but I don't think you can handle it :-)
I dunno if im ready, for that jelly!
