Blue Moon Rising TV

I enjoy Walters stuff, but I find the twitter channel very preachy, I also don't like the constant United jibs, it makes the lads who run it look exceedingly bitter and obsessed with them.

You're right about the Twitter account, but maybe that's a fair reflection of our attitude towards the rags, I've no love for them and most Blues I know hate them.

But, if you look at that Football Republic video below, you'll find lads from Blue Moon Rising, FullTimeDevils, Chelsea Fan Channel, SpurredOn and others all seemingly hugger-mugger in one footy team!

Once you know how all this stuff works you understand why.

Fair enough. Though its pretty understandable why they tried to skirt round the issue. They're only human and it'd not be unreasonable for them to be a bit terrified of that link with FullTimeDevils being made aware. The youtube could lose popularity and as a result, they lose their jobs potentially. What young person in the mid 20s in a job they really really like wouldn't be on edge about that prospect? I'd be proper anxious. 99% of people would. Their job is based around popularity. It's balanced on a knife edge, as these things always are. They're lovely guys, probably shitting themselves at the smallest of things that could see their world crumble down. They're not harming anyone...just making a slightly naive, but ultimately harmless, attempt at hiding that link.

That's not really a big deal is it in the grand scheme of things. I don't think they're worthy of any ire really. I get it, and I understand your point on principle, but as a person who understands the fickle nature of jobs in the entertainment industry really, really well, I kinda see why this could happen. It doesn't make the bad people and as a result i think its worth overlooking. They genuinely don't deserve any bad karma or owt in my opinion as they really do put a fucking lot into this.

I don't have a problem with them and enjoy their content on Youtube and the craic on Twitter.

It's understandable why they lied about it and to be honest, I'm not sure it's really very important if it's one bloke self funding or a couple of blokes getting a leg up from a media company as long as the content is controlled by the City fan.

This ranks pretty low on the "shit to get upset about" list for me. I like them and their stuff and probably have no further thoughts on the entire thing past that

Whatever one thinks of BMRTV, their reluctance to be up front about what they are means they cannot be up front about rallying support for their continued existence. As I've stated previously....

So, for those fans who are happy with BMRTV after 20 pages of this stuff, remember, going over to them after the match, viewing their videos, giving them a thumbs up, commenting, recommending them to others, isn't just a nice thing to do because you like what Adam and the others produce, for them it is the difference between an economically sustainable channel or no channel at all.

A direct appeal by one of the lads at BMRTV to the fans, by Walter preferably as he's their everyman, to spread the word amongst fellow blues to ensure the channels continued existence, might strike a chord, but of course, they can't or won't be upfront about what they are, so no such direct no nonsense appeal will be made, except in coded terms, little messages at the end of every video about subscribing and liking, all very silly really, because, as you say a lot of fans wouldn't care.

A couple of lads operating on their own, without external owners could be up front with such an appeal.

You're right though, this isn't a matter of life and death, nothing to see here, move on, except.....

Like public school boys adopting mockney accents to appeal to their audience, yet never quite able to hide their detachment from it, Shoglass babble on about....

case studies for fan engagement

And producing.....

“innovative digital experiences” through funded content, sponsorships, and digital advertising for brands and their fans

Doing nothing more than....

we were just adding extra opinion to the mix, voices that weren’t always heard,

And of course they'd never....

Are we now at a point where fan outrage can be orchestrated or faked for gain? Undoubtedly, if you’re that way inclined. I’m not;

Because all they're doing is creating....

a video fanzine, using the latest digital platforms to connect fans globally and to give them a voice.

Because, as we all know, or at least we all should know....

The digital sport landscape is changing at a gathering pace and whether one appreciates the direction of our content or not, the fan channel movement means that fans now have a greater opportunity to be heard.

Brings a tear to my eye, except of course all the fan channels are essentially the same. Oh! They have small variations and can run with different emphases and vary their content to a degree, but their similarities outweigh their differences, When you begin to realise these media companies have no real feel for what fans are genuinely like, is it any wonder they think it a hoot to produce toe-curlingly manufactured stuff like this? ....

As it went on you can see Walter becoming more and more uncomfortable with the whole false format, he rallies towards the end, but Jesus, Mary and Joseph!....Authentic?.... My arse!

But then when you want fan engagement, but you don't understand the dynamic of fans and are driven by an economic model that dictates X, Y and Z, when X, Y and Z doesn't necessarily reflect what fans do, think or say, what then?....You go with X, Y and Z.
