Blue Moon Top 100 Bands Artists - Full List of Artists (pg 287)

Dylan is not an “easy” artist to like for some, but rewards a bit of effort.
Most of the stuff he did up to the motorcycle accident is brilliant.

Supprised Tom Petty hasn't made anywhere near the 100 considering some of the musical tastes shown.

Thank christ that twat Clapton hasn't turned up .
Tom Petty is one of those artists I like, and saw live a couple of times but think you only need a couple of his albums and the greatest hits.

That's what I thought until 2010 when I watched the excellent "Running Down A Dream" documentary, and it's definitely not true.

I already liked him, but seeing that incredible film changed my opinion for the better. Some of the deeper cuts on his albums rival his greatest hits.

What I would say though is that if you took Tom Petty's 20 best songs, they would rival the top 20 of any other artist in the history of rock and pop - and that includes Elvis, The Beatles, Dylan, Springsteen, The Stones etc.

S/T debut
Your'e Gonna Get It
Damn The Torpedos
Hard Promises
You Got Lucky
Southern Accents
Let Me Up

All essential for me. Of course they are all with The Heartbreakers. I never really got into his solo stuff. For me he lost a spark without the band behind him. Became a bit MOR. I blame all that Wilbury shite he got involved with.
Mojo was an apt name for one of his last records with The Heartbreakers, as he really did seem to find his again.
