Blue Moon Top 100 Bands Artists - Full List of Artists (pg 287)

Petty, with or without the Heartbreakers, is a wonderful artist. TP&H are up there with Bruce & E St Band and The Rolling Stones as what I refer to as the greatest rock n roll bands ever. I left him out of my 20 when I introduced my own points system because I had 18 bands that I was struggling to turn into 15.

All his albums are worth having.
If you are basing it on "Rock and roll" then I agree Tom is one of Americas finest but much as I like them they are a bit of a way short of being the world's or even the US finest band.

Agree with most of the albums you've listed above, but less so about You Got Lucky and Southern Accents.
But all three of his solo albums were fantastic, with Full Moon Fever and Wildflowers being particularly good.
Southern Accents is classic for its title track alone. In his top ten songs for me.

Something very leftfield. Not something I would have expected in the Top 20, but @Dr Jacoby and @Mad Eyed Screamer will be happy ......

Scousers – they’re everywhere. Well, in this case, one of Liverpool’s finest – and I use that term in the loosest possible sense – have cracked the top 20. Apparently, they’re better than Bob Dylan. I did enjoy their cover of “People Are Strange” on The Lost Boys soundtrack.
