Blue Moon Top 100 Bands Artists - Full List of Artists (pg 287)

No, we’ve got a really nice run now. Well, from my POV anyway.
Artists that have really put a shift in and have significant back catalogues to back up any arguments, regardless of whether people like them or not.

This quantity over quality barometer som of you have is odd to me.

Give me 1-2 LPs of greatness over someone who can produce 10 of an average nature.

A pity we’re not playing a London or Liverpool team today, would have been fitting to give a rendition of … tear you apart again. Hard to make it scan for Leicester. Don’t want to get ahead of ourselves either
Tearing foxes apart? Quite apt for a boxing day hunt!

Love New Order but never got into JD.... too depressing for me. Like Radiohead. I like my music to be uplifting

I think it's more quality and quantity combined tbh fella. It's actually hard to find 1 or 2 LPs of greatness. I think a fan of a group or artist find it hard to separate the great the average and the filler.

True a devout fan can be sometimes blinkered

Well as long as Zeplin are not top 5 I can live with anything,

Oasis fall into that one..... 2 fantastic albums and four (?) or was it 5 best forgotten.
See The Stone Roses too. One amazing debut album and then 5 years to come out with an album with 4 decent tunes on it.

Not many bands make 4 albums and each one surpasses the last in quality. I can only think of The Smiths in that category which is why they should walk this competition. They didn't need a shed load of drugs either to write their tunes

I'm hoping for an Xmas miracle and afterwards Rob declares they came 115th and everyone agrees they actually weren't that good.

More chance of peace on earth and TV being good over the festive period.

I'm guessing you're a Smiths fan? :-)

I think if any band has a couple of great albums(not perfect that's a big hurdle) and some great songs on several other albums that puts them quite high up the chain.

There are not that many artists who have more than say 10 great songs. Strangely enough I don't think I put the smiths in my list and following my own rules they should have been.

So wherever they finish my apologies because they should have been a tad higher. Imho I think oasis new order and the smiths are the 3 best Manchester bands by quite a distance.
