Blue Moon Top 100 Bands Artists - Full List of Artists (pg 287)

I have had a pop at oasis many a time on here, but tbh you can understad why they are in the top 10 and not only because of them being Mancs.

My main criticism has always been their output after they hit the cool britania/global hysteria around 96, after whats the story I found the next few albums had snipets of good stuff but the average songs outweight being arsed to play them (all my full oasis catalogue are vinyl so not skipping tracks). I am a big fan of dig out your soul where to me instead of going through the motions as I felt the previous 2 especially were, they tried to bring back or reinvent their early enthuiasm.

There is no denying definately maybe and whats the story are great LPs and in the early 90s at a time where pop and cheesy was dominant (at least here) they came along with a bit of swagger and kicked the doors in and put rock and guitar based music bacl at the top table, with a cocky "we're the best so fuck off" attitude.

Oasis did something, you only probably see now with manufactured pop boy/girl bands, they didn't just make it in the UK or break into the US, they made it globally, they are poplular in Asia, South America, SEA and Europe, and still now 20 odd years after they generate interest and new young fans, why is a mystery to some but it cannot be ignored, they are probably the last big global band since the 70s/80s.

Personally wasn't in my top 15 or even my top 5 favourite manc bands, but they were and still are in many places a phenomenon not easily dismissed.

The Doors (who they ripped off a lot) were a vastly superior band.

Even though fourth is a laughably high position, I am pleasantly surprised they didn’t finish first.

I think Rob posted regarding the Oasis vs Beatles semi-final that one was 4th and the other in the top 2, so there's no chance that you have them in the right order there. It must be Oasis 4th and Beatles in the top 2.
Yeah I screwed up. I thought Oasis was playing the Stones at Wembley with Mike Dean refereeing and Martin Tyler on the call.

I have one why did you bother with this semi final stuff. Posters have been acting like 3 Yr olds for weeks. Just wait for the bloody artist to come out.

Top American is...... Great so we know who isn't going to appear, bloody hints everywhere for the needy fuckers. Christ on a bike.

Anyhow pm me who is number one mate:-)
Just thought I'd add to the fun. I mean, I could have just dumped the Top 100 on day one and rode off into the sunset, but I'd like to think the way I've done it has made it interesting for a few weeks or so (kudos to @BlueHammer85 for setting the template in 2020).

I'll bear all feedback in mind for when I do another poll, which after this, might be a long time coming :)

I think it has been very well done, despite 14 of my choices missing out :-)

Thanks for your efforts. It's been fun.

But if the smiths win will it be as controversial as when in Blue moons last ever Coronation Street Babes Competition the Champion was Sarah Louise Platt?
