Blue Moon Top 100 Bands Artists - Full List of Artists (pg 287)

I used to be mistaken for Morrissey alot in the mid eighties. Quite liked the attention and could do a fair impression of his singing so played on it many times (no flowers in my back pocket though)
Never got the music and certainly find the man cringe in so many ways.
When talking with friends in the US I am surprised by the reach the Smiths had and still have over there.
Beatles get my vote by a mile but the Stones and Smith's meh!
No surprises, Beatles were my No 1. Best band ever by a country mile.
I read a review of their album Revolver. 39 minutes, 14 songs, all completely different from one another but no mistake who it was.

I think most famous muso's would agree, even Noel and Liam Gallagher

Had Oasis broken up after Be Here Now, and released the songs found on masterplan on an album instead of bsides, I dont think anyone could argue their spot in the top 10.

Its the impact Oasis they had in those 3 years from Defenitly Maybe to be bere now and the height they reached is what they will be remebered for, yet they trudged on somehow until 2009., though some great songs post be here now too and the summer of the Heathen Chemistry album brings back great memories and always a great live show right up until breaking up, fans always up for it.

Growing up with them and their influence put them in my top 5, still love them but as got older and taste in music expanded, its hard to ignore how deriritave they actually were.

So Sad Cafe not in top 4 nor in notables outside top 100!!!

I am not a conspiracy theorist but suggest the the assocation made with the band name and the Man United forum has effectively collectively brainwashed this forum with negative connotations with the band itself. A sad reflection on the sheeple voting in this thread. You all need to do the research man. Realise, the Smitherarteee want you to behave like this, to shoe gaze, look down instead of up....

Surely, at least some placards and a protest against this conspiracy is warranted outside the stadium at the Chelsea match...
It's why they are called sad cafe rather than happy cafe

So just to spell it out, because I know semi-finals are a confusing concept (I think it's time for the old "we need a slide rule here" chestnut).

Oasis lose semi-final one, and finish 4th.

The Beatles advance to the final, so they will be 1st or 2nd

Tomorrow, plucky underdogs, The Smiths, will take on the mighty Rolling Stones, which means one of them will finish 3rd and the other will advance to the final.

Any more questions?

I have one why did you bother with this semi final stuff. Posters have been acting like 3 Yr olds for weeks. Just wait for the bloody artist to come out.

Top American is...... Great so we know who isn't going to appear, bloody hints everywhere for the needy fuckers. Christ on a bike.

Anyhow pm me who is number one mate:-)

I always liked Band on the Run and had to balance that against some of McCartney's more risible solo output (Frog of Kintyre and all that). I had never really listened to other Wings stuff but following a big retrospective write up in a music mag a few months ago I listened to Ram and thought it was pretty terrible.

Band on the Run is one of my favourite albums.

I could, beacause same as now they’d have 3 good albums, personally don’t think only 3 good or even very good albums warrants top 10 in best bands of all time poll. That’s democracy for you.

I only voted for one of the semi finalists and it wasn't Oasis. I'm not sure they make my Top 50 but definitely Top 100.

We know their best work was their early work but there's good stuff scattered across the later albums.

NG is a very good songwriter and Liam sang well and provided a moody but activating presence as a frontman.

Saw them three times in concert and the Saturday night at Maine Road is one of the best gigs I ever attended. I stayed out of the mayhem and sat near my usual place in the Kippax. Watching the crowd on the pitch was almost as much fun as the band. Any band that can get so many people rockin' like that has something special.
