Blue Moon Top 100 Bands Artists - Full List of Artists (pg 287)

That whole record is good — was called “Waiata” over here but now I can only find it as “Corrorboree” or whatever the hell. Weirdos. :)
Was originally released in Australia under the name Corroboree and the band wanted to have it named in each country of release under the native name for a gathering or songs meaning it could have been released in America under the name Powwow had the record company allowed.

As you say some good songs on the album.

Positions #58 – #65

We’ve reached the giddy heights of 8 points now and topping this section are The Buzzcocks, another Manc band (hey, come on, stop groaning at the back).

It’s a colourful section with rockers Deep Purple and The Moody Blues, whilst the sole Jamaican entry in the list is Bob Marley at #59 (I won’t do the obvious doughnut joke, but if you don’t know it, feel free to ask as I’m surely somebody will supply the punchline). There’s a couple of 60s American artists in The Velvet Underground and Captain Beefheart (wasn’t he in Blackadder as well?) and allow me a little celebration as another of my top 3 gets in – Antipodean pop-meisters Crowded House.

For a few of these artists, I have no idea of what song or video to pick so I'm relying on Googling "Best songs by ...." and seeing what comes up.

Funnily enough, just in case I need it, I did a Google for "Best songs by The Smiths" and it didn't find any.
Haha

Alexa says no

Not sure Zep were always media darlings in UK but Purple seemed to be a viewed as one step above Uriah Heep.
To be fair at the time I liked Uriah heep as much as I liked Deep Purple. As for currently I’ve liked and bought the recent albums of both bands but preferred the Heep ones.

Cool story! I didn't know that.

"True Colours" was the bigger hit over here (because of "I Got You") but I enjoyed Waiata more -- more consistent I think.
