Blue Moon Top 100 Bands Artists - Full List of Artists (pg 287)

Only the Velvets in that lot for me but could easily have had Crowded House who I’ve come to quite recently but have done some superb stuff.

Good shouts for the Buzzcocks and the Stranglers too
I was going to put the VU in my list but opted for a solo artist instead.
There’s a great new documentary out on Apple Tv worth watching if you’ve not seen it.

One of many things I have repeated on these music threads is that Barry Ancill who owned the ticket agency business that operated in Piccadilly Records basement was a friend of my father's and I just used to ring him up and get him to save me tickets for any gig I wanted to go to. I'd walk into that basement and there'd be a queue at the ticket booth which I could just bypass and go into the office and buy my tickets - those were the days.

Yeah, it's a log time since I bought an Adams album or went to a show; although I imagine his gigs are still very good.
My mates dad was also a mate of Barry Ancill so we always did ok for tickets

I thought Buzzcocks would be higher placed than 58. Based on that I don't think my vote for Stiff Little Fingers is going to chart !

Agree about Crowded House, they would have been in my 16-20. Also like some of Neil Finn's solo stuff.

Barry was a good guy. My dear (long) departed Dad was at school with him.

I recall bumping into him one time (1980) in the lobby of a Holiday Inn in London. He and his wife had just be to seen Frank Sinatra in concert. My friends and I had just been to see Kiss at Wembley Arena and had been invited back to the hotel by four American girls that we had met backstage. Not sure if it was him who tipped the concierge off but he turned up at their room and politely asked us to socialise in the bar.
