Your rock credentials are slipping OB1! Got albums by 6 of them and seen 5 of them live (Pulp, Chili's, Foo's, The Cure and Neil Young).....assuming Mr Young as a solo artist counts?

I've only got Pulp stuff / seen them because a good friend worked for their record label.

Neil Yong counts but assume he will appear on the countdown in solo guise.

of course. And so do I, just. But saying it’s laughable is wrong - as there’s little difference in popularity, I’d say universally Nirvana are more loved

Although seriously tempted, classical/opera didn't really seem appropriate for this poll, so I didn't include any (though a couple of Czech bands were on it). Maybe they're all in the top 50, which I somehow doubt ;-)

I am pretty sure one of my choices will be top 20. Thought a couple more maybe around 40-60th position, so still not sure on those. Had a couple more that I thought might make the lower reaches but now looks like they didn't make the cut either. So best I can hope for is probably 3 in total that made the top 100.

All musical tastes and opinions are subjective.

I found at the time and still now nirvana shite, however much they were wanked over and lauded, I find the foo fighters to be vastly superior a band and that he idea of nirvana being considered better laughable.

I never asked people to agree with me and accept musical tastes differ.

Well, I’ve never agreed with this statement, nor, I’d guess, would many musicians, and certainly relatively few studiers of music, and zero music critics.

Moreover, describing a band as “shite” and the quality of them “laughable” and not explaining why you think so damages the credibility of your viewpoint.

And again this is coming from a guy who put FF on his top 15 list and not Nirvana. But I can explain why I did, and also why Nirvana is not shite, subjectively nor objectively.

I’ve only seen Pulp once. At Glastonbury in 95 when they filled in as a late substitute for the Stone Roses.
Not doing very well at this - only had 2 of my picks so far!
