I think its incredible Nick Cave made the list. Haven't heard his stuff for a very, very long time -- I mean, like back to The Birthday Party days! To me this is the biggest surprise on the list so far -- I'd no idea how popular he is/was. I have heard PJ Harvey (or at least a couple of her more acclaimed records) and she's not for me though I see why she's respected.

He does seem quite popular in the UK and has been for years. I like some of his songs but there are plenty of Aussie acts that are better.

Nick Cave gained a lot of popularity due to Red Right Hand being on Peaky Blinders. He's released loads of very good records and some of his best work has been his most recent.

It's not REM I have the problem with - it's Radiohead ...... higher than The Doors and REM (and quite a lot of others in the lower placings ...... or not in the Top 100 at all).

I'm sure there are the Smiths fans who think that Radiohead are upbeat
