Not so much an album but a track had the same effect on me. 'Blindness' being the culprit. I love The Fall though, got me into CAN and others. Must have seen them 50 times and often bumped into MES pre show in the nearest boozer. He was always 50/50 on whether or not he'd make the gig. Ashton Witchwood in the late 80's early 90's was the pick of the bunch, he was about 45 minutes late and the band started without him. I think he fired the entire lot of them after it.

It's quite an interesting list with some artists on there I didn't have on my list, but could quite easily have done. 10cc were one I overlooked - what a superb Manchester band they are. I've had plenty of discussions over the years with people who think only Oasis, Stone Roses and the Happy Mondays are Manchester bands. 10cc are immense and I love the variety of work and just general quirkiness. They are criminally underrated.

Deep Purple are another band I really like but didn't have on my list, they've done some absolute belters over the years.

I'd heard stuff by Sleaford Mods and thought they were ok, but nothing special, but for 4 people to vote for them I might give them another go.

I did wonder if we'd have any rap on there - it's quite "guitar/rocky" overall.

If nothing else, these threads have been great for discovering new music!
