Blimey! I should have read your updates first. Sounds horrendous! :-(Jeez. I forgot, you are in Ireland. Sooooo jealous. Which lough is that? Tight lines :-)
We're so wound up my brother and I had a fist-fight today.
Was this the same event mate? The guests were treated to the sight of two blokes in their 60s scrapping and uttering obscene oathes at each other.

Christ things must be bad. Hope the weather and fishing is kinder today.
Woof. Sounds like an absolute nightmare. Hope you and your bro are sound.Yes it was. Home again now, managed to get an early ferry.
The rivers were mental and unfishable. An Irish waterways official told us that Lough Allen on the Shannon sytem rose 10" in one night. The Woodford River which links the Erne and Shannon system and which we fished on the Saturday was 6ft up by Monday. It was closed to boat traffic because there was no clearance under the bridges.
All the lakes were up in the bushes and trees making them unfishable. Quite incredible even by Irish standards.
Nice looking swim there. It looks like that tip is gonna bend round anytime soon: )
