Went fishing with a mate for the first time last week, he showed me some basics and gave me a rod, reel and some tackle. Going to try get out again soon but might be in my own this time. Best tips for a beginner?

Really enjoyed it by the way, felt very relaxing and looking forward to being able to teach others and have a few days out and a hobby.
