I forgot about The Goonies when I was preparing my list. And by the time I remembered it, it was too late. It might have made the cut otherwise.

Can anyone call nos1 utilising hindsight and elimination

The Godfather ?

I am guessing this as we have a godfather 2 listed so a fair hypothesis that there maybe a Godfather 1

Another three of mine on there. So of the three in my top 20 that didnt make either the 100 or the near miss list two were by Baz Lurhman. Please @BlueHammer85 tell me I was not the only one to have his films on my list.

So basically you put in films that morrissey may have referenced in a song or vinyl cover.

Was Billy Liar in you list too Mr Shankly erm sorry Shadrack ;-)

All great films though the 60s KSD
Not at all. I read A Taste Of Honey, Kes (A Kestral For A Knave) and Saturday Night Sunday Morning at school - as did most kids going to school in the 70's. I Was really mesmerised by the books and sought out the films in the late 70's.
All those three film adaptions of the books were in my top 20 and only Kes got in the poll.
Loved each film and watched them the once a year or every two years they were on BBC2 on a Sunday night.
The Smiths first album was 6 or 7 months old when I watched ATOH for the first time in maybe 2 years. Was staggered to hear the lines "borrowed" by Morrissey in it throughout. But made me love the film even more. So no. Not high on my list because it is one of Morrissey's favourites. Sorry to disappoint.

Jeez I was only messing

I enjoyed this thread immensely and whilst I appreciate it wasn't the greatest film selections of all time is was our Moons selection and that is all that matters in a lock-down world. With hindsight I would have included Papillion but hindight is a wondeffull thing. Thanks anyway and Godfather it shall be!
