BMG v City post match thread

We started the season looking like things might be different, but recently we have looked just as disorganised as last season.

And all this "We did a job" does not wash with me, I thought we were supposed to be in the entertainment business?
Would agree several years ago. We (all) are in a results business

With Barca winning the draw is the best result possible. It makes the Celtic game a dead rubber for both teams. A chance to give certain players a rest with a busy December coming up. A good opportunity for the likes of Maffeo and Angelino.

I think that a win would have been the best possible result personally.

Annoying that I'm on the scheme and I've already been charged for a dead rubber game :(

We were trying to win the game up until the final 10 mins or so. We certainly didnt set out with the objective of just getting a draw. And going for a win was the right thing to do because we're just not defensively solid enough to play for a draw. So the fact that we didn't win meant we didnt achieve our objective. It wasnt a case of "job done" as far as this particular game was concerned. And because it bore similar hallmarks to recent drawn games is a cause for a degree of concern.

That said, its clear that Pep is still experimenting with different line ups and personnel. He's taking calculated risks rather than focusing short term. Hopefully it will pay off in the medium term.

I don't see the reason why Nolito is not being selected regularly. We always put in a good performance when he plays.
Exactly - the last two games have been as dull as dull can be. Back to being less than enthusiastic as I try and keep apathy at bay (after 18 months of Manuel's team) - I just hope that it's a blip and we see some youth and/or players who play with more urgency as well as high tempo matches like Barca very soon.

It was a bit frustrating watching us pass the ball around in midfield without making any attempts to attack during the last part of the game but in retrospect it was the right thing to do. Not much of a spectacle for those of us who had gone to the match but the main thing was to get safely through to the last 16.

Pep has showed that he's learned even more, after the flat second half performance at home to Middlesbrough.

This was as much about preserving our energy for the Burnley game (Saturday LUNCHTIME!) as it was about holding the point.

Great management as usual.
Very much this!^
