Boateng and Kolarov

Mancini is a clever guy...no way will he play Kolorov against Walcott.
I think he can play against Walcott, but he can't play as far forward as he did today if he does.

Kolarov needs to sort out his defending until then play zab and micah should be ahead of boateng in my eyes. Easily as good and one of our homegrown lads!

kolarov has been alright this season he is good at getting down the line and overlapping to cross the ball and he has a shot know and then, however i think kolarov leaves it to the last minute to get back, there was some times in the game today(v Blackpool) where taylor fletcher was getting the better of him and was sometimes getting to the ball before him. Boateng this season has been terrible and i would have zab or richards before him, he doesnt overlap the midfielders, never holds up the ball, always hits the first defender when he crosses it and most annoying he fouls when a player isnt going anywhere. he isnt the player i sore in the world cup but i will give him time because on the long run he may be a good asset to the team

Both had slow starts to their City careers, hampered by injuries however I expected more by now.

Sure they will both come good, never thought I would see the day when MadZab is first choice on EITHER side.

Boateng definitely a future centre half.

I like Boateng and Kolarov and agree with the others who have said they just need time to settle. I think Kolarov in particular will be quite a threat when he has adjusted, but for now mightn't it be a bit better to play the new players one at a time (say, Kolarov and Richards or Boateng and Zaba) until they seem more settled?

On the whole, I like them all, but I do sense that Boateng isn't very natural in his current position.

Zaba seems to be playing almost constantly, and he's been brilliant, but he really should be rotated out occasionally so that he can recover from niggling injuries, so it does seem important that whoever plays while he's out should be up to snuff. Makes sense to allow Boateng and Kolarov chances to play so they can cover for Zaba whenever he needs a rest or is injured/suspended.

Both have little flexibility in thier torso....which is why they look like they are playing with ironing boards hidden down thier backs.

I asked a good while ago had anyone on the globe seen a high class 6ft 3inch fullback and got lots of chat without an actual answer. A wise whippet owning fella once said 'Don't be hunting rabbits with a great Dane'.

Can't see how they justify their places ahead of Richards and Zab so far.

I'm not suggesting they are bad players or condoning anyone getting on their backs, but they are settling and should be treated like other new arrivals are/were and not treated as first choice whilst they are settling down.

Richards at right back against Arsenal, for me, and I'd prob have Zab at left back (the only thing there is that it concerns me that it asks too much of him to do anything going forward whilst playing on his 'wrong' side.

I expect Kolarov to come good eventually, especially as he has shown some promise here already, but I don't know whether anyone should pin their hopes on Boateng being a long term right back, rather than centre halve.

Please stop with the excuses. Silva is right settled isn't he? They look decent, not great and not first team. They haven't been better than Richards or Zab and Mancini has aknowledged this.

both had injuries at the start of the season so they lacked match practice and team practice were is the excuse?
silva was completely different he lacked team bonding and fittness because of the world cup and internationals straight after and was not ready to be thrown into the games straight away.

both not first team why?

why has mancini acknowledged this all so? they both started today did they not?
