Shame, I'd have liked to have seen him have a run at centre-back next season. Still, as he says, it's up to the clubs to reach an agreement so we need to be strong on this and screw the bastards.
We do know that if he does leave, he'll go on to be a world class centre back at Bayern. Ah well, Vinnie's as good as they get and hopefully either we'll get a world class player to partner him for years or Boyata will step up to it.
He's the expensive new signing with a good World Cup campaign behind him and his apparent worth put him in contention for the first XI. I was pleased when we signed him but there's obviously been problems. If he's speaking out then he needs to go.
To his credit, Zabaleta worked hard and took his chances. Such a good attitude.
It would have been better for him to have tried to turn things round and show us his true ability but as it is, he hasn't played well for us at all so no great loss. As long as we get back what we paid for him, I'm not arsed.
