The real truth is we are champions with a squad of players that will only get better.

We need to tweak a little here and there, we don't need wholesale changes like the previous windows have seen.

Far too many on here think its a FIFA game at times.
We play an important away game at Liverpool this afternoon and shock horror, the press run a negative story in the hope it will have an effect!

Unfortunately it does on too many blues....
nail on the head

whilst I'm no great fan of Marwood, I totally agree that this rush to make him the bogeyman is unedifying and ignorant. Our budgets and transfer policy is governed in Abu Dhabi. He is in effect their lapdog.

I've been reading this for a few days and it has perplexed me to no end.

Recall that this Marwood 'bogeyman' talk did not begin on Bluemoon, it came straight from Mancini's mouth during a press conference.

And it is obvious he is not happy.

"After four months, I don't know what to say. You need to ask Brian Marwood," said Mancini.

"I am not the sporting director. I can't say anything about players."

Asked whether he was happy with the management structure at City, in which Marwood determines the overall policy, Mancini replied.

"I am not happy - but I don't know what to say."

Stop reading the press, its made up bollacks. Only last week the Mail and Sun reported we were interested and bid 30 million for Luiz only for City to officially deny it on our website.
yes and then the following day they moved onto Luiz to barca, thats the problem they use a scattergun approach and eventually they get one right.

Its about opinions. None of us know for certain what's actually happening behind closed doors, but one thing is for certain & that is that Mancini has vented his frustrations at our lack of signings publicly.

I'm not the manager & neither is anyone else on here, so if our FA Cup & Premier League winning boss says he needs quality reinforcements, I'll go with Mancio thanks.

Again if its about opinions, I'd be pissed if I knew what tools I needed to complete my job to a high standard but was being denied the support. Its not about the squad we've got, it's about the squad we need to compete effectively on all fronts.

Someone mentiond that it was just paper talk that we needed to sell before we buy because of FFP. I know we have 6 dys before the window slams shut & anything can happen in that period, but looking at this transfer window so far, you'd be forgiven for thinking this must be the case.

Again I agree that Marwood is probably under orders from Khaldoon as to what we can & can't do, but Mancini is too smart an operator to have a go at anyone in Abu Dhabi & this is why making comments about Marwood is his way of making his feelings known to the powers that be indirectly. Whatever the case, if I was Mancini I'd be pissed but not pissed enough to talk about leaving.

This is the point. People go on about 'flappers' on a football Forum, and if I say I'd like to see a couple of top quality additions, people can take the piss out of that point of view all day long. It's just my opinion. However, we've appointed a manager who's won us our first trophy in god knows how long, then followed that up with an unforgettable Premiership title. If he says he wants a couple of top quality additions then he should get them. His frustration is no laughing matter imo, because the guy clearly knows we need strengthening, and for some reason it hasn't happened. People also do Mancini a disservice when they imply that he doesn't understand or care about the implications of FFP, because I happen to believe that he is one of the shrewdest operators out there, and his annoyance with Marwood extends beyond whether he is doing ADUGs bidding or not, into how competently he's doing his job, and there should be only one winner if this becomes a choice between the two.

Marwood is also part of the team that built the squad that gave us our first bit of silverware in years and the title last year.

It's disingenuous to suggest that he is not competent at his job when none of us have a clue what he's like at his job.

Khaldoon does though, shouldn't we start to question his judgement if he is happy with the work Marwood is doing?

I recently logged on newsnow and looked back at some of the 'articles' the Daily Fail has churned out with their 'source close to city' and Here are just a few.

Mancini to quit for Russia.
Tevez to AC, Juventus and others
Dzeko to AC, Juventus and others
Richards to Barca and others
Kolarov to Italy
Balotelli back to Italy
NDJ was leaving
Yaya back to Barcelona
Aguero to R Madrid
Silva to Real Madrid
Kompany was refusing to sign
and many more...

You get my drift, they were relentless. None of these things happened and yet there were at the back of the queue with the story that we had signed Rodwell, and even had a dig in that article. It is a shithole of a paper with the half the sports staff having to drag themselves away from 'Rag Cafe' to drum up this shit.

All's I know is the person or people responsible for this will be back at their favourite seat over at owed trafford's media centre next week, buttering up baconface about finding another gem in young RVP, and continuing to sidestep the question of how his side managed to capitulate like no other team in recent history at the end of last season.

Keep calm and F**k the Mail.

Just to be clear mate, I have no clue whether Marwood is or isn't good at his job and nobody cares whether I rate him or not anyway. However, we have finally appointed a world class manager who has won trophies and is hungry for more. If Marwood is indeed doing ADUGs bidding, and Mancini's attempts to strengthen the team/squad are being frustrated with their blessing, then we are indeed in very dangerous territory.
