Clubs like Everton, Newcastle, Villa, etc are f***ed. They can't afford to expand their stadiums or build new ones. The are hampered by the capacity of their grounds. This inturn means they are unable to buy the best players to improve their chances of finsihing in the top 4, and in so doing, gain a place in the CL.
I'm sorry, but you're deluded. Once again, FFPR is there to protect and keep the cartel at the top of the table. The rest can only dream of having a turnover(TV, sponsorship, stadium, crowds) that will get them into the CL. Nevermind competing in it when they get there.
That is what the transitional phase is for, the next couple of years while FFP is slowly implemented the big clubs will not be rocking with their knobs out splashing in the transfer market. If they are they plan to legitimize their deficit via some sneaky means and that is what UEFA needs to look out for. This transitional phase will allow these smaller clubs to increase their sporting perspective by building a team without worrying about being a feeder club. Also as quoted by various sources above that not all spending is accounted by FFP, such as expenditure on youth center development etc is not considered part of the deficit so these clubs can continue to unearth new talents.
Ok, put all the conspiracy theories aside, this cartel-nonsense etc. What would all of you who are so adamantly against FFP suggest otherwise is the best solution for the longevity of this sport? Lets forget about FFP. Oh I Know, why not we let all the current management treat their clubs as products and be door to door salesmen attempting to sell them across the world to as many foreign billionaires that we can, resulting in a great influx of money and granting them the ability to compete with the so called status quo. More individualized owners, more foreigners, less shareholders, more executive decision-making. Still continuously creating a larger divide between 'them' the feeder clubs and 'us' now the financial super-houses that are part of the status quo. Creating a constantly escalating transfer market, ripe with overpaid players, insane inflation in a time when there is a global economic crisis. Lets just fold our hands and do nothing eh and just wait until all the so called feeder clubs suffer from bankruptcy and dissolve because of their inability to compete with the billionaires. Why we are at it we might as well create a European Superior League for all the teams belonging in the cartel and noveau-rich. a.k.a the Billionaires club.
Weren't you the same guys sitting in that same chair right now criticizing the insanity of the transfer market a few years back? Calling absolute nonsense on the wages paid, now that the tables are turned -> its all fair and FFP is rubbish. Ironic. I always hear the common statement thrown around these forums about 'if you club had such a massive transition would you refuse/stop supporting it, us City fans got lucky does not make us any worse etc etc' and obviously it does not since most of you have been devout fans way before the middle-east ownership. However, it seems that City fans always want to play the 'victim' card as the only means to defend themselves. Where is the logical unbiased POV towards the sport and not only your club? City might as well might have a solid plan in order to meet the demands set forth by FFP and I am hoping its a legitimate plan and not just tricks in the accounting room.
Its easy to sit there and criticize anything and everything without providing evaluations or solutions. Criticize FFP all you want, its not a perfect model but its far better than the current scenario of the football world.
