I totally agree. I don't have an issue with people being grateful to Mancini and I don't have a problem with people questioning things at the club. Personally, I just don't feel especially grateful to Mancini and I do feel grateful to the owner. Just a different opinion that is all. I'm not going to say I feel something that I don't.

You have had your day out.................
That is right up there with "wow, just wow." Ok, I give up, sorry for having an opinion, please ignore all previous posts by me on this thread, I was clearly lying to get attention and have my 2 minutes of fame on this board. After all, who wouldn't want to try to get the attention of the Mancini thought police. What I really meant to say was thank you Bobby you are the best, you have incredible amounts of class and are the best manager who ever lived. Well done, I love you and quite probably want to have your children. Is that ok?

Don't mind you having an opinion mate, I respect it don't agree with it mind. It s the amount of times you express it. Got bored with it.

Roberto Mancini

One of our three all-time greatest managers. A City legend forever.

"Mancini wooaah
Mancini woahoahoahoah
He came from Italy
To manage Man City"

Indeed. He delivered the greatest sporting moment I have ever witnessed. He fulfilled the dreams of City fans of all ages.

Roberto Mancini you are a legend!

When you state......

"when the chances are that he will never make a penny of it back."

You are way off the mark, they'll make their money back and more, but over the medium to long term. They've got deep pockets and a plan, this isn't a hobby for them and they're not doing it for the love of football.
You think they'll make more than their money back? I'm not remotely convinced. But yes, I apologise, I exaggerated, he will get some of it back. How much remains to be seen. The point remains he has ploughed incredible amounts into this club and it is him who had made all this possible. Mancini on the other hand was getting paid a fortune to do a job. Which is fine, no problem with that, I'm just not particularly grateful for him for doing a job.

Please, no apology required, perhaps my post was a bit sharp. You and I are as one on the owner and what he's done for the club (though we differ on his motivation) and from a rational stand point I can see why they fired Mancini, but the "well paid" angle, which gets trundled out a lot, I don't buy in to.

If it's just doing a job, then everyone, the board, manager and players are all just doing a job (on a tad more than the minimum wage) with the whole no more than the sum of its parts. If that is true, that Man City Ltd is fundamentally no different from a large engineering company, then what is there to support? Why do I love my club? And why am I sad to see Mancini go?

With the exception of Arsenal, a football club is more than just its balance sheet, you and I both know that.

This is how I would imagine Mr Spock and his brother to correspond..... ;^)

I was generally responding to people having a go at my opinion, that's certainly why I have posted so often on this thread. It wasn't my intention to. As for giving my opinion about Mancini generally on the board, I don't think I post it more than many of the Mancini fans.

It is a class act. I'll never forget the incredible moments under Roberto. I know that no other manager will be able to generate that level of excitement ever again. We could win the League and Champions League ten times on the trot but emotionally it will not reach the heights of that first trophy against Stoke and that utterly wonderful Premiership season. He is welcome back at City anytime. Yes he was flawed, temperamental, divisive and lacked man management skills but he got us over the line with a set of players who quite frankly were willing to lose a cup final to prove a point. He's a City legend.

A football club is the fans, as everyone knows most players come and go without having much affinity with the 'club', now more so than ever, they just play for team nearest the top of the league that is willing to pay them what there agents think there worth.

Football clubs owners are much the same, either it's a play thing, a way of making money or vehicle to gain publicity. (This is not criticism of our present owners who are doing a great job, just a statement of fact) They didn't take over city for the love of the game or the love of man city, but to promote Abu Dhabi in the wider world, they could of chosen any number of other clubs to plough there dish into. We were just the lucky ones and should be gratefull for it.

The only thing to truly support and take pride in are your fellow blues who will be there win lose or draw, away at York or at home Real Madrid.

Good point there. Best wishes to Mancini and lets get behind the new manager. End of.

Hahahaha. The absolute height of ego and vanity. A picture of himself, stood behind the three trophies he won. I wish I wasn't so cynical as to wonder whether it isn't just one more 'fuck you' to the club.

Really can't wait for the new man to be in charge so Mancini can be consigned to history.
Why the need to post in this thread at all? when you hate him that much. You really must be a sad person in life.

I just wonder, how can anyone dislike a person who only wanted the best for city so damn much? you seem to hate they guy more than the media the rag anything. its seems you are in a sad state of mind. I do honestly feel sorry for you (not in sarcastic way)

Its may be because he is exactly what he is accusing Mancini of being.
He is trying to get attention without any intelligent contribution.
Anyone comparing that half-witted post to Roberto's show of class can easily tell which one is vain and which character is the egoist.
Don't throw stones....

Loyalty this is what makes City special. Remember the show of support at home to WBA when we thought the league was lost (David Conn refers to it in his book). I hope the club are making plans to commemorate the Mancini era within the signage in the ground.
