Can you do that mate? Are you sure it won't effect your card from working for the following PL game?

Id be amazed if you can, once you've signed up that's it as far as I knew.

You can exit the cup scheme, but will have loyalty points removed I think (maybe the sign-up bonus).

well that's news to me,id lose 200 points cos im on platinum

This has been the final straw for me. They can shove the £50 they'll want for the Bayern game as I've just removed myself from the cup scheme. Looking forward to the Newcastle game and will be taking the kids, since it's half term, but I'll stick with the TV for Europe and they can fill my seat with a student who's been given a free ticket.

Well it comes up saying 'are you sure you want to remove it' and it's now gone from the list of schemes in on, so I'd say yes.

I actually dropped out of the FA cup scheme last season, albeit before January, when I realised I wouldn't be able to get to the final. I couldn't face going to all the other games and then missing a final. I was probably the only one pleased when we lost to Wigan!

Does anyone know why when I try to select a quantity of tickets to buy on the OS it goes back to zero? Trying to buy tickets it's driving me mad

Why would it? I've paid for my PL ticket, I haven't paid for the Bayern game and won't be going, so I'm not stealing from them

I just thought once you had opted into it then you were stuck with it for the season

It just makes a mockery of it if you can just opt out, i mean really what is the point in the CL scheme anyway?

The only positive ive noticed so far is that you don't have to call the club to activate your ticket, apart from that there are no incentives or benefits

For some reason the quantity box is very hit and miss if you are using a smartphone. Even using wifi it didn't work this morning

It usually works when I am booking using my laptop.

The club can't do right by some people. The reason I'm in the cup scheme is to gaurentee my seat and for the extra chance of getting semi and final tickets if we get there. I'd imagine that no fan would sign up to the scheme if they could not afford it.
The club has come up with this great deal of offering free tickets if you buy / have bought one. I'm not bothered that me n my mate have already purchased our tickets. We were already going anyway. So we always expected to pay the money. But now we can take 2 friends or family for free to a champs league match. I'm quite happy with what city have done. I think it's a great idea. I'd imagine the people moaning about this are the same people that moan about people who sell tickets on viagogo instead of letting them go on here for next to nowt.

I used to like moving to other parts of the ground for cup games - try different views and atmospheres etc. The cup scheme prevents that and if it's not even going to offer cheaper tickets, what's the point? As I've refused to pay extra to get extra points, the chance of me getting a CL final ticket is probably nil anyway, as a season ticket since '95 means less than someone wrong to pay £50 extra since we became successful.

I'm very proud of a lot of what the club has achieved and is doing in the community etc, but in other ways I feel like we're a year or two away from having 'football club' removed from the badge and being forced to pay through the nose or they'll find someone else who will.

I wouldn't have thought so mate since Vianogo is touting and ripping off fellow fans!

Someone will be along in a minute to tell you that its a great offer because now they can take their Mrs/Mr/Dad/Mum/Dog to a game that they otherwise couldn't afford/be bothered to go to

I don't agree blue. Touting is when you buy a ticket with no intention of going, but instead to sell it on at a huge profit. I don't think the club would let anyone buy a season ticket and flog every game on viagogo. Many blues get rid of tickets for games that they can't attend for the lowest possible price it let's you.
A little of topic, but it being described as touting does my head in.

Strange that after 120+ years of existence both the club as a business and the fans as their financial supporters are still almost getting to know each other!

Both sides are gradually getting to understand what works (affordable tickets) and what doesn't (Cup Schemes) and along the way some tears will flow.

My personal belief is that this embarrassing and chaotic short term phase will in the long term serve us well.

The facts are plain to see:

1. The Cup Schemes are dead. Completely pointless. The very idea that loyalty points (or whatever this week's name for them is) could be overridden by signing up to a scheme was ill thought and favoured the JCL with big pockets!

2. Most City fans are not loaded and any commitment to spend beyond the already spiralling costs of the Seasoncard must be justified by value for money. Sadly to date the ticket selling policy for CL has not provided value for money and coupled with the bundle bollocks and last minute reductions and BOGOF has meant that future sales in coming years will take some achieving as most will fear being mugged off!

The basic upshot is that the club needs to realise that unless its core fan base committing to every game then that stadium, even at current capacity, will never be full for midweek cup games. To get that core fan base to commit then we need £10 adult, £5 kids for any midweek cup games and whatever a Seasoncard holder spends on midweek cup games should be the reduction against the following season's Seasoncard! In effect you would get your Cup games for free if you could be arsed attending. That will encourage Seasoncard holders coming to Cup games for sure rather than try to sell them pointless bundles and cup schemes!

Could be a lot of non regulars at the game as this is the number 3 deal of the week on the consumer saving website hotukdeals!?!?

Same applies here, me and my mates are just getting the freebies for mates who can't afford to go, you know, like mates would. I got my first free one on line and We'd have got the rest on line, but it seems some people have abused the system and the club have closed that option down now so you can't get your freebies if you've already purchased. Now you have to waite for over an hour on the phone. Not the clubs fault, it's demand and down to miss use of the system...!
As for staying on the cup schemes or not, you will find those on it get a £5 deduction for every game so it's swings and roundabouts, some you lose, some you win, but freebies for a mate is a win win for me, you can share the cost if push comes to a shove. It's a system you either choose to use (which is convenient) or you dont. Th downside is should you not use it is that you may miss out on the later or big games. Your choice but why the hell does everybody moan like fluck because they feel they must, when actually the club have done very little wrong.

I am signed up to the cup scheme,

Tried to pick another seat online for a friend,

When I added it to basket it said basket is empty.

What am I doing wrong

For all those trying and having problems online, the website did say....

Any supporter who has already purchased one or more tickets for the match should call Supporter Services on 0161 444 1894 option 1, option 3 or visit the Ticket Office to secure this offer.

It has something to do with the free ticket being loaded on to your customer number (I tried to do it on a friends season card but have to have a paper ticket) so the website senses there is already one on your number & doesn't support it.

I did mine about 4:30 after getting home from the game on Saturday & took me 5 mins from picking the phone up
I did that and after I got through the guy put me on hold again with supporters services

Im on Cup scheme too.

I went on line, booked 2 tickets, one at a price and one foc. Then when I went to add to basket I deleted the charged for ticket and was left with a free ticket to go with the one I had bought pre offer.

Unless the club have changed it.

No-ones gonna like this me included

just had a call from a mate and tickets now are available for " students " priced £10 for Newcastle next week and the cska game

its the first time this season they've been available or at least the first time iv had a call to say they are for that price

its a fucking joke, last time I go on any cup scheme now

if its any consolation these tickets will most likely be in the family stand, the least popular area in many ways. Well, they usually are, but with the amount they have to shift they could well be doing it around the ground this time.
