I see your point. Though Walcott's out of form and the other three are strong and have very low centres of gravity. Messi especially has excellent upper body strength for a player his size. Weiss isn't a million miles away, but he's still very raw, and a little slight. I think a little time on his physique would help him no end.

Incidentally, this makes me wonder whether we have a dedicated skills and technique coach, for players like Weiss?

The rags employed René Muelensteen, a really top notch skills coach, to aid the development of players like Ronaldo. Do City have a similar set up?

i know what you mean mate by messi and SWP being strong and having low sense of gravity but i think weiss can be like this too. i think many on here have jumped on his back. have a look at ronaldo when he first came on the scene. little scrawny shit

The question is whether Weiss is gonna be the next Lennon, Walcott or SWP or whether he is going to fall into the luke chadwick, chris eagles and willo flood category

Time is on his side, he's got the raw talent but is very lightweight and has got a lot to learn, so it's gonna take time for him to develop both physically and as a player

Hes good enough to play for a team that qualified for the world cup partly thanks to him setting up goals and made one of the best young defenders in the league (evans) look a pleb.

The original Bolton posters were right. He isn't ready yet. That's not to say he won't be given experience but he needs experience at a lower level first to get his confidence up.

He was sent to totally the wrong place. He was never going to go in and light up Premier League strugglers just like that.

A respectable team in the Championship would have got the best out of him, such as when Adam Johnson went on loan to Watford. They weren't stupid enough to send him to Newcastle at the bootom of the Prem were they? It would have ruined him.

quite obvious yet another average academy product, as with every other one, notably Ireland and Richards and Onuha and Johnson.


Only good thing about the academy is it should be giving Mancs a chance to develop into Pro footballers, and maybe just maybe once every Blue Moon we discover a Paul Lake.

An academy should be for predominately local kids if it's roots in the community are to be maintained, nothing wrong with that, there's plenty of space at the club for imports from further afield. His reply was 'I don't think he's upto the premier league at the moment'
